@squirrelnacho: I think it's a fairly representative play through experience, a little more I think.
Because Dan's played through it before and never once mentioned the manual etc. But I suppose it depends on what you mean by typical playthrough. I've watched the series, I've thought of all the possibilities that they've explored. If I were at the controls I wouldn't play any better. If you were to give this to someone today, it would be a bad experience.
I think these guys are being a little hyper critical of this game, I feel like if this was the new setting for a far cry game it would be received a different reception. Maybe because we've become jaded about the design progression of Far Cry game, but it annoys me that Far Cry seems to get a pass whereas homefront which i believe to be not dissimilar gets a harsher eye. I understand why (it's past) but if you were trying to get to a relatively objective judgement of the game, then thinking this is a really valuable, emotional or politically more interesting game than a Far Cry game seems to be the wrong way to approach it.
