@fishriot: Giantbomb has been doing that for almost every game they cover for about a decade. It has been part of their shtick to be uninformed about games in general. Especially when games are brought up during the email portion.
The game looks worthless, but I think a bunch of Jeff's criticisms were more about him wishing a different game instead of whether what they are offering is good or not.
@murlin: Giantbomb in general is not aware of discussions and news around games, they are insular and only get their information usually from the games themselves; this is due to them really spending much of their time playing games instead of following news on them. It's also why they are generally really uninformed about other games, too.
@schindigg: You are missing a lot I'm afraid. For one, people in the game industry don't have the protections (or rewards) that people in construction and medicine do. Yes, it was a well known practice for years, but the idea about shining a spotlight on those problems is to make the industry better, not to just ignore them simply because "that's how it always has been before". It would seem you might even feel that way about many different topics, which would mean that in that case, yes, absolutely, you are missing a lot of issues that could be fixed if more people simply cared.
