I always thought all the lyrical songs were a bit weird and corny because they were translated from Japanese, but I'm not sure how true that is. They hold a special, corny place in my heart anyway.

@lyndbako: Ohh yeah that's true, been a long time since I played Fever. The zooming out of the Monkey Watch reminded me of the zooms in Lockstep, maybe that's why I relate those two. Space Soccer always messed me up though, too..

Tangentially, playing again has made me realise the cat from Air Rally sounds just like the King from Hamilton.

Ahh Monkey Watch, Fever's Lockstep. I still think Lockstep is harder, but bouncing between on and off beats was always the hardest things in these games for me. And what timing, too, I was just lamenting today how there's no Rhythm Heaven on Switch.

Congrats, Jan! Good on you for sticking with it, despite seeming like a real struggle at times.

Hope the next series, whatever it is, is just as good!

I wish Ubisoft would make more games like For Honor, a real quality original IP, instead of rehashing these cookie-cutter open worlds.

We have Cyber Open World 3, Historic-Fantasy Open World 11(?) and First Person Open World 6 (but actually 8). Even their new IP, Hyperscape, is just a take on an existing and popular formula while that Roller Derby game and Skull and Bones have just completely fallen off of the radar. It's a real shame to me personally, because they've proven before that they can do these interesting smaller games but wider audiences just prefer these rinse and repeat open world adventures.

Damn, Jan, so close! I'm sure he's got it next time!

If he reads advice from the comments, I would personally suggest taking a slower approach and prioritize stamina. Maybe it was just the tilt, but at the end there a lot of the time you were going in for really risky attacks and not getting any reward; a lot of bosses in these From games require you to get in, attack once or twice and then get back out before you're left standing in the path of an attack with no stamina to dodge away with.

Also, with some of Maria's bigger attacks I found it possible to slip in behind her and get in a charged heavy which will also allow you to do a visceral attack (remember you can spin 180 degrees during a charged attack). Lots of damage and you get your health back at no Quicksilver cost!

Stick with it Jan, you can do it! Orphan on the other hand is a different story...

Good stuff Jan as always. I hope he continues on to Dark Souls 3 or another Souls game after he's finished the hunt, Breaking Bad Demon's Souls and Load Our Last Souls is some of my favourite content on the site!
