I'm not trying to alienate Ms_Chivios. I would love to get her input on how she feels about my blog post and whether she agrees with me to any extent. What I hope to achieve from this thread is to see if people agree with my thoughts because after all this thread is a blog post. "

This whole event has shown me that Giant Bomb's community isn't actually as different from other gaming sites as I've believed since launch.  It isn't any different actually.  Just smaller.  I've seen so many threads with people bragging about how this site is so much better than others and how the users are so much more mature and willing to participate in logical, polite discussion.  Stop deluding yourselves.

Chivios, I saw from your Uncharted post you're new to the gaming world.  Welcome to it.   
Flaunting yourself a little is basically the equivalent of trying to snatch honey out of a beehive.  It might be sweet for the moment, but you're going to get stung.  You're allowed to do it, it's just recommended against.  

The guys that are 'crusading' against you, are trying to win your attention by being different (as in, not kissing it).   It's the same idea that when a boy likes a girl on a school yard, he's more likely to punch her to show his affection than actually be nice.  People on these sites are usually pleasant, their just not very smart and have no idea how to act around girls. 
At the end of the day it's drama.  On a forum.  On a video game website.  Online.  Just ignore it.
