@sessh: "barely a game" is an argument i would like the GB crew to have at some point. I don't usually subscribe to the artsy fartsy side of video games, but at what point does a game cease to be a 'game'? I hate the term interactive entertainment, but equally sometimes its the most suitable description for video games (certainly in recent history), and i would argue that all 3 of those you note are exactly that.
As a side note, as much as i hate the TT game engine, they are probably the games i make most effort to play because of the interactive story. As i get older and have less time, episodic content really floats my boat.
I don't mind the idea of them splitting the release so long as the core story remains intact. Just think of it as playing disc 1. It will be interesting whether part of the reason for splitting the release is so they can push out 'part 1' asap, before the 'whole game' is finished!
I like what we've seen in the small trailer they have released. It certainly looks like they are on the right track, but there's still plenty of time for them to fuck it up!
This list tells me two things. Firstly that i am so behind on my backlog of games, but secondly and more importantly, what a frigging amazing year it has been for games. There are a couple of things, in particular Her Story and Mario Maker, that i would like to have seen in your top 10, but equally its hard to argue that any of your top 10, don't deserve to be there.
