Nice write-up. My girlfriend and I are having a great time with the game.
I am getting a strong GTA vibe from the open-worldliness and story elements of the game. I can't wait to get through the whole story so that I can start speculating about ACIII.
I am having a a great time with it so far. I haven't found anything too repetitive yet. Maybe that's because I play the game by just doing whatever I feel like. Having so many optional side quests means that you never have to be stuck doing the same thing over and over.
I think the length of this game warrants a purchase over a rent -- it'll give you a greater freedom to do what you want and will reduce the amount of grinding you have to do to just push the story along.
" Take these humble tips into account, and see if you feel differently (as I do): 1. Your control over the character is relative to the camera and not the character. So if the camera is facing Ezio and you jump holding right, Ezio will jump to his left. 2. To adjust your trajectory while freerunning, the control adjustments you need to make are subtler than one might expect. As above, it helps to judge by imagining you're Desmond (the camera) and not Ezio (the puppet).3. Let go of A often, or else you'll fly in all sorts of crazy directions. It's an obvious tip, but everyone I see play is constantly on that A button, even if they are about to make a jump that requires more precision.4. Generally, the AC engine is doing a lot of guess work of where you intend to go, based on your trajectory, the camera, and of course the terrain, so you need to be familiar with how those guesses are made, and you'll have tighter control of Ezio. It's not perfect of course. The camera can change it's angle often while in motion, so there's a lot of compensation required of the player. But considering the engine, I think it's just about as good as they can do, and the rest of the onus is on us. The biggest problems I have with movement in this game is him getting stuck on climbs he can obviously traverse. It seems even more prevalent here than in the first AC. "
Yes, I tend to agree with your thoughts on the controls.
This is not a bug, per se, but it is fairly annoying. I have a couple friends who aren't all that active on GB, so I tend to be the only one who posts on their walls. Even after months of not posting on my friend's wall, I will get a Flood Warning error when I try to post on their walls:
Flood Protect Warning You can't post right now, because our system only allows you to make two posts in a row..... wait for someone else to post, then you can post after them - thx :)
Now obviously, I am not intending to spam them, they are my friends, and I might post on their walls once a month. This "Two posts in a row" protection ought to have a time limit. No more than two posts in a row in one week, or one month, or something along these lines.
As it stands now, my attempts to get my friends to be more active on GB are prevented when I cannot even post on their walls!
