The Death Stranding conversation was so cathartic to listen to after just finishing the game. I really enjoyed the game and I feel just as betrayed as Vinny by the end ~5 hours. The anger about this ending is truly a strand connecting Vinny, Alex, and I.
"UMA" is both the Japanese word for Horse and the acronym for Unidentified Mysterious Animal, another Japanese term for the kind of cryptids that Chico is obsessed with in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
I actually just got into FF14 because of the mahjong!
I haven't played mahjong in a few years but back when I learned this article (and further series on the blog about tile efficiency and defense) helped a lot:
Doubt anyone will see this before watching the QL, but if you haven't played Katamari Damacy but plan to, then don't watch the last ~5min of this video. Playing that level for the first time without knowing what was going on was a really memorable and joyful (and very short) moment for me.
Kinda torn on this one, the constructed mode sounds like a frustrating ripoff - I can understand the idea of 'why play if you aren't going to progress' there, because you're starting off with a beginner deck. So the question is actually, why struggle with bad/boring cards vs people who have better/more varied cards, if you aren't ever going to get those better cards (without paying a bunch of money)?
On the other hand, a free draft mode sounds great, that's usually something you have to buy packs for in other games. Draft is probably my favorite way to play card games anyway, since it forces variety and starts everyone on an equal playing field. So as long as there's nothing strategically different or limited between the free and paid draft, I'd consider getting this to ignore constructed and just play the free draft.
I'm just kind of skeptical that they'd offer such a good free option without a catch, considering the model they are using for everything else.
