Yeah, I know these things are getting old but hear me out.  
 
What is the point of the Ipad, will someone please tell me? Isnt it just a giant Ipod Touch that will cost twice as much because it has a bigger screen? I mean, it doesnt even have flash, want to see the latest Quick Look? go screw yourself. 
 
Who will use the Ipad? If you want to do work then you will buy a laptop, if you want a casual browsing computer to listen to music and watch videos on you might aswell get an Iphone since it will be cheaper and the only downside is a smaller screen. 
 
And how about using Iphone apps that use the  accelerometer? how in the fuck would you play them anyway, it would be as uncomfortable as shit.

Apparently Apple isn't doing a good enough job convincing people to buy their latest doodad. People all around the net have been more confused than interested. Too bad most folks are too afraid to apply that skepticism and frugality to all goods.

I can see a place for it. A laptop is by no means a real portable device, but the ipad is and it supports iWork. Itis also much better at typing than an ipod touch. This tablet could in essence replace the need for a notebook for portability and just use a desktop at home.

Im not so up to date on this because personally I hate Apple, iTunes, the way they spell iTunes and their iPods.
 
But I got to say, putting that aside, every time I hear somebody mention their iPad, I just think, they sound like some asian man trying to say iPod. Really grinds hearing that name.

*sigh* Here we go again... As for my part why I'm getting the iPad: I read ebooks and watch movies on my iPhone whenever I can. It has even replaced the real books I read when I go to bed. By getting an iPad I get an easy to handle device that I can read my books on, watch my movies on and surf the web from. Lying in bed with a laptop is not an option for me, it's clunky, uncomfortable and just plain annoying. Lying in bed with an iPhone is better, but the small screen strains the eyes after a while if you read ebooks in stanza, but the device itself is easy to place in a comfortable position. 
 
The iPad will just make this better. Its larger screen reduces the eyestrain, and make watching movies a more pleasant experience. Also, the larger virtual keyboard makes it easier to reply to emails or post in forums while surfing. If iWork works as they announce it will, then I can even work on minor things at work for it, since we use iWork for minor makeup things in a newspaper and being able to just walk around with my iPad between floors and showing the layout will be far greater than lugging around my laptop.  
 
When it comes to gaming on it, then that's going to be fun too. I mentioned in another thread that I couldn't wait for the iPad to get released so I could play all the point and click adventure games on it (Broken Sword, Simon the Sorcerer, Monkey Island etc), as well as Myst and a couple of other games that is VERY suitable for this device.  

Anyway, this iPad hate is getting annoying. If you don't like it, then don't fucking buy it. If you don't get what it's for, then read up on what it can do. If you still don't like it, then again, don't bother with it.

You want an iPad? You should try this hot new thing; it's called a Laptop.

They made the wrong choices with the iPad. It should just be a tablet version of their macbook computers, THAT's what I would want, so photoshopping would be waaay more fun on the go, for example. Not some giant iTouch. That's entirely useless. Also why are they touting it as a good e-book platform? The screen ain't e-paper, and I couldn't read something on there for longer than a half hour. Might as well own a kindle for that stuff. 
 
I even heard it touted as mac's answer to netbooks, but the average netbook does more, and you can install OS X on some of them anyway... which makes them both cheaper and better than an iPad.  
 
I think they just don't know who they're going for on this one. I used to worry I'd just accept anything Apple would do as awesome and perfect all the time, but I'm glad they can make mistakes. It means me being that impressed with iPhones and Macbook Pros isn't just being "mac-cult" about it. I just genuinely like it. 
 
So thanks Apple, you might have made a useless machine, but you've at least validated my views on most other Apple products.

I would buy an ipad if it had usb ports,  and flash.   
 
I kinda would buy it now if i had the cash just because of the book app, i imagine trying to read books on an iphone screen is  ridiculous.  
 
Apple fanboys are the new sony fanboys, You cant even talk to them about PCs, they just roll their eyes and look at you with a "gosh your STILL paying less money for a better product? why havent you moved on to being locked in your hardware and paying 1000 dollars more than you need to like the rest of us" look. We got new Macs for the graphics department and one of the kids in class practically jizzed himself when he saw it, he was literally drooling.

It's just another trendy piece of crap from Apple.

I don't visit sites that use flash in absurdum. Cnn.com for example is perfectly usable if you disregard their videos. Giant Bomb also works great without flash.
