In an effort to save this inevitable trainwreck:

@McDom: What aspects of the wingstick make you feel like it's the best weapon in any game ever. I haven't played RAGE yet and my favorite weapon is the Zero-Point Energy Field Manipulator a.k.a the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2.

Once you acquired the gravity gun, gameplay changed significantly from run-of-the-mill shooting to insanity! It's possible to use no other weapons than the grav gun for most of the game after that point. I remember bringing a single locker door through the entirety of the Nova Prospekt level. I don't think I'd ever become so attached to a random prop in a game before (This was prior to Portal).

How does the wingstick stack up to that?

@Ravenlight: The gravity gun pales in comparison to the stake gun!

Also I agree the Wingstick is pretty fun to use, but its more of item/equipment rather than a weapon. (You use it in place of grenades and medkits)

Eh, they break way too easily... They aren't NEARLY as amazing as the glaive from Dark Sector.

The Cerebral Bore from Turok 2 would latch on to the wingsticks forehead, eject its brains out in a fountain, then explode destroying the rest of the head. I forget where I was going with this but yeah I disgree.

Holy shit, I'd forgotten about the Cerebral Bore! That sound it makes is terrifying.
