So I'm doing the story mission where you have to lasso a horse. Anytime I lasso one however, no matter how close or slow both horses are going the lasso immediately breaks. The prompt to hold the lasso pops up for half a second before the lasso breaks. I had a horse that was standing totally still and I lassoed it five times in a row, each time the rope broke off immediately in the same way. I've tried both pressing and releasing the trigger and holding it down and it doesn't make a difference. Is this a bug or is there something the tutorial messages aren't telling me?

Yeah, you have to hold down the left trigger even as you get off the horse, then walk over to it (still holding the trigger).

I had an issue with the lasso at first. I was holding both triggers, which resets the throwing animation.

Ah I see so you hold the left trigger. Kind of counter-intuitive since you throw it with the right one.

All I ever do is hold the left trigger down to bring out the lasso, throw it with RT and I still hold down on the LT even after throwing the lasso. As soon as you let go of LT you will lose the hold.

If you're trying to lasso a really strong horse, like an American thoroughbreed, you may get thrown off your feet and lose the lasso if the lasso'd horse is still running while you dismount.
