Every time I try to start a posse with people in public free roam they always just prefer to kill me. No one likes playing together anymore. Boo

I just experienced a night of a lot of random grouping, must have had a crappy player list in there buddy!
 
But yes, free roam equals ganking galore.

because its a rockstar title. i love that game, but it doesn't change the fact that the playerbase for that game isn't like any other RPG or MMo lol. Teamwork isn't exactly their strongsuit.

mostly because these are the same people from gta4 that would shoot you and tell you to eat a dick, rather then group up and have random fun

Depends on the people but i've stopped after realizing that if the leader goes and does something else besides free roam, i'm transported with them which really pisses me off cuz a couple of times i was in the middle of a gang hideout

I usually dont play unless i have friends on, and when i do we usually team up and attack other posses instead of joining them. Rivaling with real people is much more fun then fighting computers together. 

Trust no one in the wild wild west, friend.

I usually just play with friends, but none were available and I wanted to get the Posse Up achievement.  I think I'll stick with my chums for now.

transfer to a different free roam. you'll eventually get to a lobby where people will actually want to posse up. but my problem with random people in the posse, they do nonsense stuff like jumping over waterfalls, it's fun for a while, but if you're doing that for an hour, it's just stupid.

Because what everyone really wants to do is get the Carcano Rifle and kill people from 100+ yards away. The sniper rifle is truly a cancer in all combat based video games.

From my experience, being asked to join a posse in free roam is simply a ploy to get you within killing range.

Most people screw you over when playing online, so I play in private mode the majority of the time, but it's more fun if you go in with you and another dude instead of all of the people working together, to many people in the the same gang hideout is annoying.

A big round of applause for Rockstar making all the multiplayer achievements only available in public sessions. Well done lads. Top job.
