Should I buy Resident Evil 5?

Its on games on demand and its awfully tempting. I do however hate japanese game design and the combat is going to be a problem for me. Plus Im not sure I want to play co-op with anybody. Thoughts?

If you plan on playing it co-op, I'd say give it a go, if not, don't go near it.

You just answered your own question.

I played it by myself and I still had a blast but co-op was 10 times as fun.

as Aljosa15 said, you answered your own question. I wouldn't advise getting it if you don't want to play co op.

@TheDeadComedian: I vote get it. I had a ton of fun even when I wasn't playing co-op. If you for some reason feel the urge for co-op though, that's what online co-op is for.

You don't like japanese games, the combat doesn't look to be very fun for you and you're mostly going to solo it?...No I'd advise against it, though truthfully playing it solo itsn't too much of a repellent. It still plays fine enough workin with the AI, but coop is definatley how you get the most out of it.

Uhh, the AI isnt bad, seriously, just assign Sheva to attack and she is pretty good.  I would get it cheap.  I had never played earlier RE games so I enjoyed it immensely.  I guess its not like previous entries, but I didnt know so I loved it.

@TheDeadComedian: It's a very good looking game, I've played through roughly three times... but that was a year or so ago. It's still pretty cool, like any game you will get used to the controls after time and they'll be less of an issue.  I'd say buy it online though, you'll get it much cheaper... e.g. $26AU at CD WOW!

If you can get it at a bargain price, I would suggest it. It's a good and fun experience (especially in co-op, so maybe you should recruit someone to play online or something if possible), but don't go in expecting a riveting story. It's top-notch gameplay overall, but the story is mostly an excuse to get from Point A to Point B.

Price point?

Yes, buy the Gold Edition of the game.  It's a ton of fun especially coop.

I'd very strongly recommend it. I think it's also only $20 now, which is just awesome. I've never played it co-op, but found that Sheva is a very competent and attractive AI companion.

For $20 it's a great game, solo or co-op.

RE5 was built ground up on co-op, but you can go at it solo and still have a good time.  Co-op is really where Capcom's gem really shines, and it increases the fun factor 10 times more.

In my opinion the game is only worth your time in co-op. Solo it really offers nothing that other games haven't done better.

RE5 is built for cooperative though you can play alone but what fun is that. Try out the demo to see if you like it before buying it.

No you shouldn't.

Damn this is already on Games On Demand?!  That's nuts.  Anyway, I love RE5 and got the platinum for it on ps3 and still might even buy the Gold Edition on 360.  But do I think you should buy it?
