It's a Good Game. It Isn't a Resident Evil Game. 0

This Review Contains SpoilersWhen the Resident Evil franchise begun on the Playstation, it basically redefined what the survival horror genre meant. Hell, it created the survival horror genre. It was extremely innovative and everyone loved it. Then, that formula grew old, so Capcom reexamined the series and practically changed the what genre Resident Evil was known for. The series, then, totally redefined the third-person-shoulder-shooter, just as it had redefined the horror genre many many year...

Resident Evil 5 0

It's not really a surprise that Resident Evil 5 is not as good as Resident Evil 4. It's not an insult to say that either, because the latter is one of the best games to come out in the last decade. 5 takes the core gameplay and design philosophy from 4, and expands on it in a new setting in some ways that are interesting, and in other ways that will leave you scratching your head. It's probably a more ambitious game, but on occasion its reach exceeds its grasp. When it's just following up on wha...

A Resident Evil 5 Review 0

It’s been 4 years in the making. But it’s finally here. Resident Evil 5, the latest entry in Capcom’s acclaimed Resident Evil franchise has finally hit the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Featuring drastic changes from the past Resident Evil games, this game promises to entertain old and new fans alike. Here are my thoughts...The latest entry in the series puts the players in the shoes of one Chris Redfield. The star of the first Resident Evil game and widely considered as the central hero of th...

Capcom does it again! 0

Yes it is true, yet again Capcom is able to produce mind blowing visuals and an experience that will simply keep you grasping your asscheeks in rabid anticipation throughout the entire experience of the game. The game takes place in a variety of different locations this time around, from jungles to deserts, to giant factories! There are also a good amount of events that take place during the main story that keep you entertained, such as driving through the desert on a humvee blasting pursuing di...

An infection of great action. 0

Contrary to previous games in the series, Resident Evil 5 is no longer about the scares or the tension. Instead, Capcom’s latest entry capitalizes on action more than fear. While the more blatant shift in focus may be upsetting to long-time fans, comparing Resident Evil 5 to its predecessors is doing it a disservice; it’s an excellent action title all on its own and it’s also a phenomenal way to start off the spring season of gaming.Resident Evil 5 stars Chris Redfield (protagonist of the origin...

Capcom: Let's take something great and mainstream it to death 0

This article was originally posted on BnBGamingon November 16th, 2010.In a world dominated by cover-based shooters, Resident Evil 5 tears off the shackles of exploration and atmosphere to go play with the big boys.Note: This game was reviewed on the PC and has the stink of a bad console port. Be warned that the reviewer may be a little bitter.Resident Evil is considered by many to be the first true survival horror game, although some may demand that honor be reserved for Haunted House, and it ha...

A Great Experience 0

Resident Evil 4 changed the way 3rd person shooters are played and was one of my favourite games of the last generation. The idea of Resident Evil 5 instantly excited me I was looking forward to see more inovations and new changes to the gameplay.  When the first detail leaked out I was instantly disappointed and it put me off buying the game at launch. Its now a few months later and I have finally played through the game and my opinion has changed completely.Resident Evil 5 puts you in the shoe...

A Solid Adventure/Action Game 0

I bought this game only because my friend was buying it as he wanted to play co-op. Actually, I only bought it because my Gamestop was having a promotion for this game where you trade in 2 used games for RE5 at 20 bucks. So, I have played with quite a few people and I am proud to say that I enjoy this game. It is worth your money. I simply can't wait for the multiplayer. I have already bought Killzone 2 and this and I hope that those games will keep me occupied. The only con I can find for this ...

More of the same, but that's not really a bad thing. 0

So I’ve been playing Resident Evil 5 lately as a break from Prototype.  I’ve heard all the hype about this game being a first person race war shooter.  White guys against black guys.  Unfortunately the people who review these games at first glance don’t usually remember or care about the back story.  The progenitor virus which was the Umbrella Corporations big breakthrough in regeneration of dead cells started as a discovery in the heart of Africa, where as it so happens most of the people livi...

Resident Evil 5 has its flaws, but is a great game overall. 0

Resident Evil, a series that defined survival-horror, has been around for thirteen years. Capcom, the creators of Resident Evil, released Resident Evil 5, the seventh game in the main series (0 and Code: Veronica make Resident Evil 5 the seventh game in the series instead of the fifth), in March, 2009. Four years prior, Resident Evil 4 was released, and the game was highly received with its new gameplay and new style. Does Resident Evil 5 live up to the success that its predecessor was? Let's f...

Night of the Living Dead-but-not-quite 0

Resident Evil is an example of a franchise that could’ve only succeeded as a video game. What other film or television series has gotten away with combining the depth of storytelling equal to a Power Rangers episode with the gratuitous violence of a horror film? Such a concept would nary succeed in movie theatres where film ratings are enforced, but the ESRB ratings didn’t quite carry the same weight in a video game store back in the day. Not that they carry much more weight nowadays but still. ...

An intense, new yet familiar breed of horror 0

I could fault Capcom for the somewhat lukewarm release that followed (and still is in some respects) when Resident Evil 5 was released. The game was pulling away from its moodier environments, small ammo count and slow, shuffling zombies. In its place where high-octane action sequences, enough firepower to take on a military base and guys with tentacles for heads that more or less can make a break for you. Its trailers were lengthier and seemingly more easier to dissect (remember the identity of...

It's a Resident Evil 4, with a slight twist of lime. 0

I have been a resident evil fan since the dawn of time(when I was like 10 years old). I have long awaited for this beautiful sequel since it was announced like 2 years ago or something. Finally, it turned out more than I expected !! 2 players ??! screwed up zombie people riding bikes evil knievel style, dogs splitting in half !! there are moments where you'll go WHAT THE EFF !!! Graphics: Its beautiful, amazing environment and characters look very detailed. Blood is insane in the membrane !! sl...
