    Overview

Riot Zone (known as Crest of Wolf in Japan) is a brawler developed by Westone Co. and published by Hudson for the TurboGrafx CD platform. Cops Hawk and Tony turn in their badges so they can enter the criminal hive DragonZone to rescue Hawk's girlfriend and defeat the gang leader Bossman.

It is startlingly similar to Capcom's Final Fight in a few ways, from the general look of the characters to more specific lifts such as the way the city is represented between stages.

Riot Zone is based on Westone's earlier Arcade brawler Riot City, but because the game was published by Sega, Hudson could only use the game's assets but none of the licensed names for characters and locations. This is similar to the Wonder Boy situation: Hudson adapted all of Westone's Wonder Boy games, but had to change the name each time because Sega held the Wonder Boy license.
