On launch day I booted up RISK: Factions 4 times unsuccessful. The game freezes on the main menu before the "start" prompt appears. The same thing happened to me today multiple times.

No, I haven't had that problem so far. I'll post back if it does.
 
If other games start to freeze also, it could mean you 360 is about to red ring though.

It could be a corrupted download. Try deleting it and download it again.

After ending the first mission (trial version) the game froze on me... 

Going by other forums, a lot of people are having problems, even the same as you where it won't get further than the start screen!!!

Don't understand how a product like that can be released?

I did really enjoy the demo and was thinking of buying it, but then it froze.

Played through the whole campaign without any freezing. That sucks for the people that are having that issue. 

Nope I have not had any issues myself. I did have a problem where I playing a match online and my roommate turned off the router mid match....twenty five minutes wasted.

I've had the same freezing issue myself.  Judging from a few minutes worth of internet searches, it's affecting people who downloaded the trial version then purchased the full, like myself.  I'm able to bypass it by signing out of XBL and starting the game up, signing in when it makes me.  guess that'll have to do until they patch it...

I have had One freeze so far, 
Same as you it was on the main menu when the game first starts and says "Press Start" 
 
System froze and had to restart, 
Only happened once so far.

Yeah, i've been having this problem too. Apparently it's something to do with the Gamertags, i've read that if you start the game while not signed in, then sign in after you press start at the title screen it'll work fine, and it just worked when i tried it, but i've only tried this method once so could be a fluke :D.

Froze once today. Was looking at some gamercards while I was starting it, and it froze right after the EA-logo splash.

I've played the hell out of it and haven't had a problem yet.  It's a great game, hopefully they'll patch it.

Sorry to say it dude, but it looks like it could be a red ring coming up. I could be wrong. My friends froze so many times and nothing happened. However, every time mine freezes it red rings afterwards. Fuckin Microsoft.

I fucking bought it based on the QL without DLing the trial first, can't even play it, it freezes at startup for me as well, i've re-downloaded, cleared cache and all that, won't let me play. time to sue EA! 
 
Guess I'll try the sign-out thing

It freezes every time for me when I try to restore a custom game I previously saved. Weird.
