Classes are different archetypes and playstyles that players can choose to play their game with.
An attack that does more damage than usual, usually affected by random chance and some sort of modifier.
A mechanic often featured in multiplayer games that allows a player to stay on the battlefield after being mortally wounded, until they bleed out or are revived by a teammate.
Items that are generated by a permutation of characteristics. By using a permutation, a great number of items are generated by adjusting a small number of variables. Each variable increases the total item count exponentially.
Collecting objects in a game such as weapons, armor, items, and currency. Loot is often associated with RPG games and MMOs with RPG elements.
From Beat-em-ups to fighting games to modern FPS, one dude hitting another has made an enjoyable pastime.
A feature in multiplayer games in which one player drives a vehicle, typically a car or a tank, and another player rides along and mans some kind of weapon, usually a turret, cannon, or a gun their character is holding.
Games where every playable character is its own individual class (Ranger, Spy, Necromancer, and so forth).
Any character you can control in a game is a Player Character (PC), as opposed to a non-player character (NPC), which is a character that can only be controlled by the game.
A variant of the vicious Rakk creatures in Borderlands. The player encounters one as part of the main storyline.
Reloading is the action of replacing the ammunition magazine inside a gun. It adds a touch of realism to most modern shooters, and a certain amount of tension when a player is forced to reload while under fire.
