AVALANCHE is an anti-Shinra group. They believe that the extraction of Mako energy harms the planet. That's why they target the Mako Reactors with their attacks.
The Cetra is a human race from Final Fantasy VII. They have the ability to "speak" with the planet.
In Final Fantasy VII, the Lifestream is the spirit and lifeblood of the planet and has all the memories and knowledge of those who lived on it. It is the source of Mako energy.
In Final Fantasy VII, Mako is a liquid form of Lifestream that has been processed as an energy source through machines known as mako reactors.
Characters that are initially portrayed as evil, but eventually turn out to be good or not as serious of a threat. This also includes villains who remain evil the entire game, but contain some sense of moral goodness or ambiguity.
A boss that players fight multiple times throughout the game. They usually follow the player as they progress.

Shinra is a ruthless mega-corporation who harvest Mako, the life force of the planet Gaia, and transforms it into electricity to power the city of Midgar and its surrounding area. Famous for the Jenova Project which resulted in the creation of Sephiroth.
SOLDIER is an elite military group of Mako-washed soldiers who work for the Shinra Electric Power Company in Final Fantasy VII.
Using stealth often requires the player to accomplish their objective without being detected by enemies. Methods of detection can vary from game to game, and can be based on an enemy's line of sight, how quiet the player is, or even how the player interacts with the environment.
The Turks are an elite organization that perform covert operations for the Shinra Electric Power Company that first appear in Final Fantasy VII.
A group of villains, each with a different characteristic and ability (or gimmick) that insist on fighting the protagonist one at a time. They may have ridden together, but they never die together.
