Listening to the podcast now, and it's goddamn tough =(
Ryan Davis
Ryan Davis was a GameSpot editor and co-founder of Giant Bomb. He was solely responsible for founding batmanbatmanbatman.com and cocainemountain.com, and went by the online nickname of "Taswell." Ryan passed away on July 3, 2013. He is gone but never forgotten. We love you, Ryan.
In Memorium: Your favorite Ryan Davis moments.
My favorite: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-raskulls/2300-3653/ About 29:40 when Ryan freaks out. So hilarious. One of the moments that made me buy a premium membership.

Such a strong image, fantastic.
EDIT: http://hollywoodlife.com/2013/07/09/ryan-davis-dead-video-game-personality-dies/ THE BEST ARTICLE EVER!
This is probably my favorite Bombcast tangent ever.
Seconded. I've never seen any of the Fast and Furious movies, but I think now I'm going to have to fix that.
Don't know if anyone else remembers it, but one of my favorite moments was when he went off on the my notebook app for DSi ware having a hard limit on number of pages.
Thanks for everything, Ryan. You got me through some tough times. And I'm grateful always.
Its at time like this I just like to sit and think, to think of the passing time and of the things that have influenced us. A great man called Ryan Davis has entertained people and has created much joy and love among both people he knew and people who he has never before. Its times like this and great and supportive communities like this that I reflect in John Donne's words: "Send not to know for whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee." And for everyone who ever listened to or knew Ryan, its truly does toll for thee...
Couldn't sleep directly after listening to the podcast, so I took some time to do this instead, I hope you enjoy/are horrified by it.
My favorite thing Ryan Davis has ever done, is at PAX 09. At about 2:13.

AMAZING.
I have to ask though, what all the Ryan/Koffing tributes? Can't remember him mentioning anything about that specifically.
I'm not sure. I feel like I remember something. I know Koffing is Jeff's favorite pokemon, maybe Ryan agreed with him on that. Either way, I just did it because I liked the idea of Ryan's face on Koffing's body, nothing much else to it for me.
@demoskinos: Oh God that is amazing
When the car glitches out and Ryan freaks out and nearly brings Vinny to tears, always gets me. There are so many more and he'll really be missed, my heart goes out to everyone he ever touched.
@supernormalstep: incredible, I'm sure that would have been a contender for his twitter picture.

Ryan has stated from previous podcasts that Koffing is his favorite Pokemon. This artwork couldn't be more awesome and fitting.

I love this picture :)
Attempted to turn it into an ACNL shirt (hope you don't mind), and thought I'd share it:
Still finding it hard to believe it's true :( RIP Ryan.
@megametaturtle: That is amazing! Will definitely be using that, thanks for that.
Another memorable video with Ryan is that long one they played Cards Against Humanity. That was amazing.
After listening to the podcast today and hearing Jeff talk about the kind of great and rare chemistry he and Ryan had, it reminded of these videos:
This one time at Pax Prime, Jeff told a story about a trip to the gas station.
This other time when GB got their TriCaster back and Jeff and Ryan found themselves on a live stream just kinda wingin' it for a few hours:
Jeff and Ryan's connection is one of the things that I could always point to when trying to explain what made GiantBomb so special. They complimented each other so well and the stories you would hear from them were always supremely entertaining and skillfully re-told/acted out.
I'm finally in a state were I feel like i have something to say. When I got the news yesterday I was in complete shock.
It's been a wonderful 10 years of following Ryan and his shenanigans. I basically grew up with Gamespot and later Giant Bomb.
Cheesy as it may sound, thank you Ryan for all the years of enternainment.
Haven't read this whole thread yet but there's a moment from one of the really really early GB/Arrow Pointing Down podcasts where they are in Jeff's house and Alex is there and Alex gives Ryan an energy drink and Ryan says "well how should I drink this?" and Alex says "you down it straight to the bottom in one gulp". So Ryan does and then he starts gasping and coughing as he sputters out "Crushed Pills...you asshole..." and then Alex says "let me tell you what you're in for - you'll get about 45 minutes of delirious happiness followed by worst crash you've ever experienced in your life...ENJOY!"
I might not have every word precisely right there but that's pretty much how it went. I was sitting in my train commuting to work that morning with tears of laughter streaming down my face and everyone on the train is staring at me like I'm having some sort of epileptic fit.
#goodtimes
my other favorite is the gag from one of the Bombcasts where Jeff is SCREAMING about wanting to go see Dumbo and Ryan is playing the patient mom while Vinny plays the dick deserter dad - that one was more recent, maybe a year or so ago. The play between Ryan and Vinny was just amazing with Jeff screaming like a 3 year old in the background.
and of course the Breast Milk episode, although I think I enjoyed more his comment on the subsequent bombcast that he didn't feel bad about drinking the breast milk but he did feel bad about taking the money. That's classic Ryan.
This episode of the podcast where they're just back from Tokyo and Vinny's story of the Japanese strippers dressed as cowboys. His laugh was infectious. Plus the QL rider meet horse, horse meet rider. Never laughed so hard.
There are practically an infinite amount to choose from, but these are the ones which stand out in my memory.
I just love the perfect mixture of wonder, confusion, and delight in Ryan's voice during this quick look.
And, of course, who doesn't want to see a grown man literally roll on the floor laughing?
Every episode of TANG, of course. And from around the same GB "era"...
I love how Ryan slowly brings in everyone else in the room, even though you can tell at the start that they're trying really hard to ignore what's going on and get some work done. They should have known better.
Ryan drinking the breast milk. That had me laughing so much, will always remember that and the crowds reaction when he did. Priceless moment.

That is just beautiful!
I still remember him saying that he and his wife decided on this song for his wedding on the podcast. Now it has another meaning for me.
Jesus, what a standup guy.
@starvinggamer: I received a similar email from Ryan.
My question was basically - Why is the Bombcast awesome and all other podcasts suck?
His response : "Because we're god damned professionals!!!"
At first I thought it was a rather caustic response and then I just smiled and thought "Yup, that's Ryan."
I don't have a clip or a story, just his laugh. His genuine laughter always echoed in my ears as I listened to the Bombcast at work. It was always at the stupidest shit, and it was always so g'damn infectious.
I started listening to the cast because I heard about a gaming podcast that featured a couple of dumbasses drinking shitty drinks and eating shitty candy. Years later, I don't know how to explain to anyone that asks me what's wrong but to say, "I just lost a friend."
My favorite Ryan moments, I mean there are so freaking many, that guy was really funny and was super quick on the draw with jokes. Some of the ones that come to mind are from recent times, like the sitting on a cake story, oh the Buckner & Garcia song video is freaking hilarious, I've watched that thing so many times and still get a laugh out of it. You knew every time he was in a video you were in for some good fun.
But I guess my favorite moments were the Ryan and Jeff super synergy moments, like when asking questions they would know where each other was going in the discussion and they thought about the same next question, they had that snap between each other I don't know what to call it, they could go back and forth on any subject.
Ryan was a boss THE NACHOBOSS! and I'll miss the shit out of him even if I never met him in real life.
I uploaded two of my favorite Ryan moments:
I was thinking about this moment days before learning of his death. :(
And despite being a small part of it, this is one of the highlights of the P4 Endurance Run to me. I loved it whenever Ryan would just yell something in the background while Vinny and Jeff were playing. That's how Charlie Tunoku was born!
Love these two, Ryan is so amazingly entertaining during the babyshaking incident. I've been crying a lot since monday, I had no idea this would effect me this much. Never thought about I guess, nor have I experienced someone I actually didn't know passing that in someway effected me. I'll miss you Ryan.
