I guess this is what this thread was about. He isn't "jumping the Japanese development ship" (lol) though -- he simply won't be able to do his job as president of his development company, Tango Gameworks, while simultaneously directing games.

It's a bummer, to say the least. The guy has brought us some of the best, most influential games ever made.

This  makes me sad :(

That's true.And even if he never makes a game again, he'll presumably mentor whoever's taking over the directorial work at Tango (which consists mostly ex-Clover/PlatinumGames folk -- in other words, people who are damn talented to begin with). "
