Got excited and thought Jeff "Brodeo" Green was on this week.

Oh well, my life trudges on with sadness.

Speaking of people with shitty jobs holding up signs pointing at places too cheap to buy proper adverts, I cannot decide how I feel about this guy who can always be seen five minutes walk from where I work:

It is just outside a shopping mall called the Bullring in Birmingham, England which is apparently the busiest mall by footfall in the UK (Birmingham is the second biggest city) so the sign will be seen by tens of thousands of people every day. Now the obvious advantage is that the fish disguise is pretty good, nobody ever need know who you are. On the flip side, imagine the embarrassment if anybody you knew did find out? As it is so incredibly busy there, chances are you are going to see people you know all the time. What if one of them comes over and asks a question? Would you disguise your voice so they didnt figure out it were you?

Aw man! Don't bring up Descent *sniff*. Another one of these games that is ripe for a sequel.

Nice line, Brad. Maybe I'm a n00b about this, but kiting is a perfect term for that Fallout/Skyrim behavior of backing away from an enemy chasing you. Is this a term other people are familiar with?

I'm not sure if this entirely true. The other people in the bombcast like Ryan, Vinny, Patrick and Brad give off the "Lapsed Star Wars fan" vibe. I think that most of them have an affinity for it on some level, but seem to be kinda burnt out on the franchise. I don't really get a sense that they are huge Star Trek fans or anything. Even Jeff doesn't seem to be a big Star Trek fan, he just prefers the asthetics of Star Trek to Star Wars. Star Wars is Sci-Fantasy and Jeff seems to HATE fantasy. I'm sure if we got into a discussion with Jeff about the themes of Star Trek(like Roddenbury socialism), his response would probably be "yeah, that shit is retarted, but phasers and Starfleet ships are fucking awesome."

I get the feeling Jeff isn't really a big fan of either. But I guess if you took the concept of the force out of Star Wars it would probably be alot more palpable to Jeff.

There is a suspicious disconnect between Jeff's critique of the game and the amount of time he's put into it. How could you be that down on a game that you've dedicated over 100 hours to?

The new X-Com looks a bit too much like that eastern-european X-Com series that was run in the ground as UFO Aftershock, Afterlight etc. That doesn't necessarily matter though, as long as it's not using that shitty engine.

This is the greatest service to gameing kind ever! The non-stop bashing of the current MMO-RPG state is so long over due. Honestly, as a MMO player, I have been thinking this for years. Bt it feels really nice to hear someone say it clear and loud!

I hope Blizzard is listening because they are about to make all the same boring mistakes with D3. I've been in the beta for weeks and no way I am buying into something I did 10 years ago.

I've actually bought a couple recycled games from EB Games/Gamestop. Curiously they already had half a stack of recycled Skyrims like, a month and a half after the game came out, so I'm kind of curious what exactly "recycled" means. For what it's worth I peeled the stickers off my games one at a time and found that the bottom sticker was a "used" sticker, and was $10 cheaper than what I ended up paying.

You hear that entrepreneurs? there's a demand for mediocre delivery pizza in Petaluma.

Well in that case they shouldn't be making so many statements on something they know very little about. This was not the first nor will it be the last time that they talk about this game based on their 6-7 year old recollections of it, as opposed to actually taking a few minutes to look up some information.

About the 3D in Super Mario 3D Land: Yes, the difference is wether the 3D is "in front" or "behind" the screen. I personally prefer the inside mode because it's like looking through a window into this world and feels much more natural to me.

Edit: Oh yeah, the new Wayforward game is the FOURTH on DSiWare/eShop. I can recommend every single one.

Whenever I go to Los Angeles, I always visit Roundtable Pizza - it's my go-to terrible pizza down there - plus they always have the best/worst old arcade machines.

In Canada, it's all about Dominos - but that's mostly because I can easily order it online.

Been playing some GW1 too some time ago and I had character names I would've never guessed. Mostly because it consisted of two words and i only ever make one-word names. But the NcSoft support works so fast i hardly had to wait.

I still can't perceive a single one of Brad's problems with Arkham City. It's like just having eaten some masterfully prepared steak with a friend, and while you're sitting there completely satisfied, your friend starts complaining that there was too much beef in his steak, and that he'd rather have spam.

I listened to this and ordered a pizza right after.  Do not listen to bombcasts hungry.

Still insane to me that these guys can somehow shit on one bloated stupid sci-fi franchise while propping up a less popular and equally as stupid sci-fi franchise at the same time.

I need to know if Patrick has managed to unearth the truth about recycled games.

Guys there is a way to buy a one use fleet pass, it's about 10,000 c but it is avaliable.

One of the only things that makes me glad to be from Petaluma is that I get all their local references. And yeah, fuck a bunch of Mary's Pizza Shack. Except for their awesome arcade. That they no longer have.

That whole bit about recycled games makes me feel really sick to my stomach and as a Canadian its pretty worrying. I used to work for EB Games/Gamestop about a year ago (I actually quit because they were trying to get their employees to sign a document saying they could fire you at any point without warning or reason, which I'm fairly certain went against labour laws in Ontario) and some of my buddys who still work there were saying its purely marketing, Gamestop is trying to capitalize on the recycling boom here in Canada. Gamestop has really sunk lower for me in these past couple years than I previously thought possible. Its disgusting and I certainly hope some sort of repercussion follows this behaviour, as if it goes unchecked here it could lead to things only getting worse from here on out.

I'm writing from Toronto Canada and can tell you that the "recycled games" labels are a new thing for 2012 (maybe started late 2011?) They are just a new label for "used" games, and that store with both labels on display has probably just not gotten around to updating all their inventory. recycled=used, just a new marketing campaign!

Its pretty sicking to me, it puts new games sales under further pressure and the publishers and studios should be just as upset. They are preying on the "green" movement for marketing, but no matter how you slice it, "recycled" is not the right word for a "used" game! Imagine parent buying a game when they are already overwhelmed with the selection in a gamestop. Why wouldn't they buy a cheaper game that says its recycled and helping the Earth? As them the same about a used game for a gift and I think they will think differently about it.

I rarely buy used games as I like to support the developers whose games I enjoy, but I don't have a problem with the used games market. I DO have a problem with this misleading marketing by calling them recycled, but what can we do to combat this? Who reports on this? Is there anyway to say this is false advertising to get them to stop?
