I think Resident Evil becomes a lot less interesting when the characters are being taken too seriously. RE4 was the perfect mixture of Leon being a dope and him being legit cool.

@undeadpool: Yeah. The tone of RE4 works brilliantly because Leon comes off as a huge dweeb trying really hard to be a cool action hero,

RE2 works because he's in over his head and knows it. RE4 works because he's STILL in over his head, and absolutely DOES NOT know it. They lost that charm in 5.
