Wow... this has made me totally feel inadequate. I would be happy with a firm grasp on my own language. But, I'm also excited for this!

Hey, this is awesome. Surprised the audio is so good too, I'd have thought it'd be harder to deal with the people in the background. Nice for those of us not making it to PAX East to get a litte something :)

He is a really interesting fellow. Thanks for this interview. I think I'm going to restart my 1/3 of the way in Metro 2033 save to go with the Russian dialog.

Actually quite excellent these things. No chance, or extremely little chance, of misquotes, misinterpretations and whatnot when you can actually hear the tone of the person speaking. You get all of the context. And it adds personality to what would've been dry, nondescript words. Now the words have a Russian British accent.

I really enjoyed the first game and was eager to pick up the book. However it took me quite some time to track down an English Language version. I really hope the author keeps up his efforts to get his work out there in as many languages as possible. As soon as it's available in English I'll pick up Metro 2034.

Enjoyed the book more than the game, even though the book itself was somewhat hit and miss at times. I can't imagine the poor translation helped. The book had its fair share of politics, horror, and the unknown, but the game was a simple shooter in comparison, with a few jumps and scares thrown in.

Not really complaining, though. The game is pretty good in its own right, but I think it would've went from good to great if it had a more moody pace, and more exploring with less shooting. But that's just me.

Whoa! I love this book. The game was ok too. But that sequel 2034 was terrible :( Hope more of this guy's books get translated/popular he's awesome. By the way if you want a copy of 2034 in English there are fan translations out there, but most are just google machine translation from russian...they suck. Look for the human translated from spanish version, it gets almost all the idioms right and has a smoother flow. But yah, prepared to be underwhelmed.

I've read the book in Russian and also thought that it was hit and miss in certain spots. I find he borrowed a lot from Lukyanenko who is the author of the Nightwatch/Daywatch series, specifically the philosophical discussions.

2034 was definitely worse.

And as the author of a book that no one cares about, let me tell you, getting people to read your stuff is next to impossible.

Really liked reading Metro 2033, there were a lot of Lovecraftian elements that kept me hooked throughout. I bought the original game at the same time as the book which made it hard not playing the game since they start pretty similar.
