I vehemently disagree with Jeff about DBZ:Kakarot but understand where he's coming from. It's a thoroughly OK game with nothing great about it, except for using the original japanese music and instantly winning me over with that alone.

Who edited the show this week? There's ads in the Premium feed.

The "It's time to play" slogan has been used by Sony in ads since November last year, hardly something a leaker had exclusive knowledge of.

The premium feed should have the version of the show without the preroll ad now.

Surprised to hear Ben say he likes the level design of Halo, though maybe its because he hasn't beaten it yet, because I just played through it co-op with a buddy about a month ago and man, I hate the level design in that first game so much. Endless bouts of walking down the exact same visually designed corridor and only knowing you're going the right way because 1) there are enemies and 2) the Anniversary treatment added arrows to the ground to point you where to go. As fun as the vehicle sections are and as open as the game can get, the parts where it turns into a corridor shooter are so incredibly awful and dull and bog the game down so, so much.

I was offended when Brad said Banjo-Kazooie is a good "Xbox throwback" to make playable in Smash. This is N64 erasure.

So some of the older DBZ Budokai / Tenkaichi games had solved this win a fight only to lose in the cutscene stuff you guys are talking about. I can recall in at least one of the games the first fight against Raditz was extremely hard and most people would lose right off the bat, but you could beat him to unlock like an alternate / what if timeline scenario or rewarded secret items.

I remember the SMB3 coin ship stuff from the Nintendo Power strat guide. There's also a white mushroom house that most people haven't seen, or have no idea how they triggered it to appear that one time. Turns out you need to collect over a certain amount of coins in a specific level in each world. Most of these aren't easy to do, but you get a wing or an anchor for it.

As a new father myself, I enjoy/need Jeffs domestic updates to feel normal.

Salvia is actually illegal in most states. Anyways the guy that made the driving and gardening on salvia videos is still doing stuff on YouTube on the channel Internet Comment Etiquette with Erik.

Ben's a little too hard on the Byleth reveal, at least it's not another FE character that only uses a sword and has a counter special.

Salvia Divinorum is a plant just like weed and mushrooms-(a fungus but you get my point). Terrance Mckenna was big on throwing it in your cheek like chaw for light and manageable hallucinations. Of course the internet made it synonymous with nuking your brain by smoking it.

MSN / Windows Messenger was the best chat software of those days. AIM felt archaic the few times I tried it.

The fact that Brad was willing to sacrifice a night of sleep on his bed in order to not make his sheets dirty makes me question how often he washes his sheets... and I think the answer is not enough. If you're washing those things every week or two, then one night like that wouldn't really matter.

DBZ:K is a thoroughly mediocre game, but Jeff's example of the orb rings is a bad one, because you can tap a button while flying to do a loop-de-loop to collect them all as you pass, making the flying actually pretty fun and engaging. He must have just missed it.

In regards to salvia. There is a show on hulu called 'Hamilton's Pharmacopia' which has an excellent episode devoted to the plant.

Alot of the reason the people on YouTube were getting blasted out of their minds was due to headshops selling 32 and 64x strength super concentrated stuff.

In the episode Hamilton goes to Mexico and has a small town shaman give him a trip and it takes quite a while and alot of leaves to start hallucinating, similar to mushrooms.

I liked when Ben basically just described Budokai Tenkaichi 3's approach to story as exactly what he wants from a Dragon Ball game without knowing that it exists already. Dragon Ball games have done basically every approach to that universe other than just going the comic book route and letting a different author just completely redo the approach. I'd love to see Togashi write a Dragon Ball Z one-shot/arc.

Also, I don't normally scrub through the bombcast, but that DBZ talk felt interminable. Especially for a game no one was really feeling.

Exclusivity was always bad as far as it concerned gamers. If anything I'm surprised it took Sony and Microsoft so long to figure out that timed exclusives was the best way to go. Rockstar figured it out back in 2013.

If DBZ Kakarot were all "what if" stories, that would actually be a bad game since Kakarot is a very good game centered around the telling of DBZ that works well. They've done enough of the Budokai and Tenkaichi-style fighting games for 10+ years, so we needed them to do something different for once.

The Kid Goku in FighterZ is GT Goku, not Dragon Ball Goku. He's as powerful as late DBZ Goku.

I'm surprised Brad didn't mention the part of the Avengers delay announcement where they talk about the "True Believers" like those that aren't sold on the game yet are stupid.
