Mark, JJ, if you're reading, I thought Tony did a better job than Tom. I would like Tony to be the permanent replacement for Brendan.

I'd always just written this stuff off as not for me for whatever reason, but I've really gotten in to this podcast recently - might be my new number 2 next to the Bombcast. The 8-4 guys have the great chemistry that so many potentially interesting podcasts lack, and they're engaging to listen to.

Brilliant episode, guys. I would go watch the Dark Souls stream at once if it weren't for the fact that I'm just starting to play it. I must, at least, try to make it for a short while without any hints or help from others.

Seems like it sold a bunch during the steam price drop. They were fresh out of product keys the whole weekend. Fantastic brave new world we live in were digital copies can run out. But I'm not mad... for now.

Love this show. I've recommended it to all my nerdy lil' friends. Since you have worked so hard for your European love you will be pleased to know you have a couple big fans in Sweden ;)

On a serious note it is sad that Brendon left but you guys are my only source for infinite Dark Souls and Monster Hunter love!

Great show...I would have to agree with some on the view that jj and john do sound alike and are at times hard to differentiate. The interns were good, but they better bring the A GAME next week when Mark "Bob Barker" leaves for GDC.

@undeadpool: It would've been awesome if it was Spider, but alas, when I asked @TasTokyo, he said he doesn't read comics :(

That said though, fellow intern Chris and I did conclude that Tom does bear a resemblance to one Grant Morrison, just younger and with all the jingly-jangly hardware that Alan Moore wears, also.

Weird! And yeah, I guess without the specs, he DOES look more like Morrison...which actually I think was the basis for Spider post-compound (with Moore being the inspiration pre-compound).

Oh wow. Did not know that actually, but yeah, I can totally see that now. Thanks for that!

You guys say you should only play monster hunter with friends but I won't be able to as I'll be on the other side of the world. Is it not worth getting on 3DS if I'm looking at playing alone?

@demonssoulfood: I'm in the same situation, actually. I took the plunge and got it off the eShop anyway and have spent about 20 hours with it. If it's any indication, that's about 19 hours more than I gave the last Monster Hunter I tried (Portable 3rd, I think). I'm not particularly sure what is different this time around, but I think I may have found a little of what there is to enjoy about it, even while playing solo.
