You can do both! (Ryan also QL the full Yakuza 3 and 4.)

Guys, you don't HAVE to fight every single goon on the street. This playthrough will take more than a year if you do and that's also far from the most effective means of getting money.

Right now, Mondays are the best days. Can't wait for more wacky adventures out East!

Finished the game last night after 68-69 hours. Did most of the substories and a chunk of the minigame storylines (real estate & cabaret club) that unlock for you at a certain point of the game. Loved it and the story is pretty great overall.

Let's just say it won't be the last time you fight Kuze either. In fact, you fight him 4 more times throughout.

Lmao, turns out the girls on the business cards are Japanese porn stars.

Little bit disappointed that the bass player was using a guitar, but overall a great episode.

You only really need to save if you're quitting the game. If you lose a battle there's a retry option that starts the fight over.

@danryckert You actually guessed the sign at 1:27:40 correctly (I think). I don't know what the middle line says, but the top and bottom lines mean "The toilets are [whatever the middle line means]"

Quick couple of cultural comments:

• -san can, in fact, be used after business names and not just for people, as in Sony-san. You use it when it's appropriate to use polite language in regard to the business. The suffix's so versatile, in fact, that it can even be used after general place names. For example, honya means book store, and one can use honya-san when talking about some specific bookstore that's familiar to both the speaker and the listener. There may very well be an actual guy named Tachibana, though - businesses in Japan are often named after the owner and Tachibana is a real family name.
• They've only been around since the late '90's, but check out Kishidan for a real-life yanki band (though it's very clear they're parodying the culture). They have tons of material, some pretty serious, too, and they've been great the one time I've seen them live.

I keep screaming at the screen different cool heat actions Dan could be doing. Oh well, I guess it's maybe an unnatural learning curve when you have to keep the stream interesting and can't spend ten minutes just dicking around.

About the trainers: On the ability grid there are some spheres marked with an M, when you hover over them it will say master and a number. To learn moves from trainer you need to unlock spheres adjacent to these (as if you would buy them normally). The sphere with 1 for the first move, the one with 2 for the second moves etc.

Also in pocket racers you press the stick to the right to go faster.

Sigh so the underwear thing is a real thing in Japan ... at one time you could theoretically even by it from um ... well... lets just say different varieties of girls from what I have heard. I think it was even in vending machines at one time. Pretty sure that has stopped but, yeah Japan has some weird sexual stuff...

I did not watch the video till the end yet so maybe the Guys realize it later, but at 1:05:00 Vinny heard it right, the different fighting styles have different music. Also the beast style has really cool heat moves after you grab the enemies with circle.

@zaldar: As a resident of the fine country of Germany I can say that Japan is far from being the only nation on Earth with a penchant for weird sex stuff.

They are crazy not using Rush more. It's so good. Beast as well. Love switching a lot in this game.

Beast's grapple Heat moves are awesome, especially if you're around a group of enemies.

For me I usually go Rush in one on one fights (though I can at other times too), Brawler for a few or kind of in general situations, and Beast for groups, especially if I already have heat to do a grapple or if there is something like a bike rack right there where I can quickly use the auto weapon attack.

Jep that was the one aspect of the main story that really started to annoy the hell out of me.

Most parts for the pocket racer can be bought in the pocket racer room. There is a small stall in one of the corners.

Be warned though, some parts you need are found in other places like the CP shrine, Dream machines, and pawn stores.

They've been trying to do "context sensitive" heat moves now for 3 episodes, I'm pretty sure this game doesn't have them in normal combat encounters.

Vinny and Jeff should go around to different bagel shops doing taste tests for a premium show.

@zaldar: it's absolutely not a fetish unique to Japan, for example a lot of people all around the world who do camshows will sell their used underwear to increase revenues

@pebbleinspace: I think once they start getting enough money they'll stop. After a while it's pointless to fight guys for the money, there's more than enough elsewhere.

There's not a ton of different environmental heat actions, the one for car doors only works with cabs I believe. Bike railings are another that tends to have a few associated with them. If you want more variety, buy some weapons, equip them, and pull them out by pressing down on the D-pad while in battle. As mentioned last time you can see a list of heat actions by opening you abilities grid and pressing triangle.

And you shouldn't be sitting on all that cash, you're just asking for Mr. Shakedown to come take it from you. Go upgrade your 2 mill Rush and Beast abilities. As mentioned earlier, you need to buy the abilities next to the M spheres in order to learn new moves from masters.

If you want more stamina for sprinting, maybe see if you can find your way to the shrine.

Also buy a mandarin orange and keep it in your inventory. Something fun might happen.
