Didn't catch this live, thought Brad abandoned the "play for the rest of the day" thing after seeing the last part was only 2 hours. Glad that was not the case.

Man, Brad is cranking through this game. I'm surprised by how little he has leveled for how deep he's gotten.

That's the most glitchy thing I've seen in this game, ever. He even landed and got his footing on that outcropping before falling the rest of the way.

Brad is so indecisive it's painful to watch sometimes. Vinny is a saint for having so much patience and repeating himself again and again.

4 Hours of Breaking Brad: Demon's Souls?

Work can't end soon enough.

He's going faster than I did. The Crescent Falcon +1 helps, but he's also just doing a good job.

Brad is really good at excuses, he should write a book.

@brad In case you didn't figure it out in the stream (I only watched bits and pieces yesterday), your Crescent Falchion is already naturally enchanted and therefore items like turpentine or spells like magic weapon won't work with it.

Also, you're steamrolling your way through this tough game. I'm impressed! And everyone says you suck at games.

@jynxdaddy: I think his indecisiveness comes from how people have portrayed the Souls games. People like to make these games sound like some kind of Rubik's Cube alien artifact relic that for newcomers it's far more intimidating than it needs to be. Both games are perfectly doable by playing however you want.

I dont understand why Brad gets to a group of enemies, then just stands there, failing to attack, then dies. He waits until they finishtheir move sets, then just doesnt attack?! If he wont attack, those enemies will hurt him. Use your sword Brad!!! Dont blame the camera, just dont run into a room with 5 enemies that surround you and learn from your mistakes! He needs to be more aggressive and less indecisive, but he needs to learn from his deaths instead of calling bullshit everytime. I love his style, its fun to watch, its chaotic, luckily Vinny seems to keep him on the path to success.haha, but this is demon souls, learn and repeat. Hes also become too reliant on regen ing his health as opposed to healing. Risky habit to pick up... but like brad said, we know what we signed up for watching breaking brad. Terpintine is more important than killing a boss haha.

Yeah but indecision is kind of Brad's "thing" in every game he plays. To be honest, I think he's simply a slower learner/player than most, which means he has to take more time to process things and can't react as quickly. My wife is the same way with games!

Brad: you have probably already gotten this tip a million times, but the ring you are looking for in the undead asylum is locked behind a door the key for which you find on a Firelink roof near the path to the nest you took to get taken back. Just did that last night myself and was very glad I happened to go over and investigate it before returning to the asylum.

Edit to add: also, Vinny, you aren't crazy. When I did the "curl up like an egg" thing, I counted and got up to 17 before the cut scene triggered. That doesn't sound like much, but it was uncomfortably long enough that if I hadn't heard about it I would have thought I hadn't met some condition and stood up.

He really out-Braded himself in this video, constantly screwing up for mostly obvious reasons and blaming the game at every turn. 5-1 isn't even that bad of an area if you actually play it slowly and carefully as you should always do in Souls games.

Edit, to be truly fair, that was bad camera in quasi blighttown. Blocked camera in fact is rife in Dark Souls, and well... Brad was managing to find every bad spot there was. I used to hate it when you just got past the door to Ornstein and Smaugh, and you knew Ornstein was going to maybe make that fast run at you. Yet that damned door still blocked the camera for some reason.

Brad, please use your magic more. You could have zapped the tower knight into oblivion as well as that troll that killed you. Don't feel guilty or think you need acceptance from Goobey Gooberson the annoying Demon's Souls expert in the chat who think you're a n00b for choosing a royal.

Ugh...This series was going so nice until someone else decided to join the commentary...

Seems kinda ass backwards to make a big stink outta getting that sheild and then not even bothering to see if its good or not.

Definitely need to see more Rorie in content. From today's puppy chat stream to him popping up in this feature, it's been great.

I died once because someone hiding behind a wall attacked me. I KNEW he was there, so I blocked but the push was enough to send me off a ledge. It's a fucking shit area.

Brad's indecisiveness really shows when he fights other players though. He could've easily killed the second invader without losing even half his health if he just committed to attacking with melee.

It bugs me when people act like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are the most fairest games in existence. Dark Souls is not nearly as bad, but Demon's Souls has some legitimate design issues. The lock on, as demonstrated several times, is kind of broken when there's more than one enemy on screen, and the camera is horrendous once there are walls on either side of the character. In areas like not-Blight Town and the shitty prison area, it's pretty brutal.

I never had too many issues with it as long as I didn't rush into rooms like an idiot, as Brad was doing, and instead took care with each encounter.

The only issue is getting greedy about those treasures in precarious locations and falling off as you try to get them, but that's very much intended design as I see it.

He played like he has some sort of internet reputation to defend or something...

I haven't played either of the Souls games, but have seen quite a bit of Dark Souls by now. Seems like this one's areas are a lot more plain and boring. Do the environments get more interesting later in the game?

Brad has some rather strange priorities at times. Like, valuing how his character looks over his ability to, say, resist damage or poison.

Take whatever advantage you can get, man.

I like that Brad doesn't get upset when someone kills him in pvp. People are such goof balls when it comes to D* Souls invasions. Its a major part of the game and even ingrained into the lore. People like to say how hard and unforgiving D* Souls games are, but when something kills you that has a player name its suddenly a big problem. I love invading and getting invaded in Dark Souls. I was pretty sad yesterday because I died while as a human from ballsing up Seethe (I walked in and ran to the other side of his cave forgetting getting that they put you in the back of the room the first time you fight him). I would much prefer to get into a fight with a person and lose it that way. I also gained about 60k souls when I was invaded in the Duke's Archives which polished off the souls I needed for the next level.

Watching Brad get frustrated with the camera angles and curse the game is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I think Brad is doing a wonderful job and I'm glad they're doing more than 2 hours a week (we'd be here until the summer if they kept going at that rate).

It doesn't bother me most times, but their terrible sense of direction became frustrating towards the end here, especially when it was staring Brad right in the face. At least Brad and Vinny have admitted it as much.

I'm glad they finally got through the rest of 4-1. I don't want to see that part again. Brad would go through that archway a half a dozen times and get distracted and go somewhere else.
