This game needs to penalized for not having aerial vehicles in which you can crash immediately upon takeoff.

I might pick this up for the ol' PC box.

I like the feedback you get in COD games when you are hitting or have killed someone. Haven't been a fan of the Modern Warfare games, I kinda liked Black Ops, surprisingly, since Treyarch has been pretty poor otherwise.

I guess since I bought Battlefield 3 I can't have an opinion on this, as anything I say would immediately be viewed as fanboyism.

This is exactly the same feelings I have on the game.

It's great fun to play, but it's pretty much just "Madden with guns" now with minor updates to each iteration, so from an objective standpoint, I don't see this game scoring anything more than 7 or 8 out of 10 across the review sites.

I don't think anyone really expected it to land more than that, which is exactly why Activision seems to have embargoed the game until after release.

Still, Call of Duty has become it's own institution by now... The kind of game where the average consumer don't even look at reviews before buying it and both Activision and the programmers will probably be rolling in mad bank after the next couple of days.

Solid review. Call of Duty has never left a lasting impression on me, though. More explosions does not seem to be the crucial piece I was missing. I do believe that vapid mass market bullshit like this can have value as entertainment, but I've heard too many talk like Call of Duty is the only reason to play video games, which is enough to make me explode.

Really neat and informative for a video review. Nice job. Kinda went like I (and everyone and their dog for the past years) expected it to go, kinda the same stuff again and it feels less and less impactful even though it will still sell millions and provide fun for the people who enjoy it.

Mark this day, this is the first year I will skip a Call of Duty product (for real this time. no really, for real). Skyrim and BF3 are already offering way more awesomeness for my busy life than it can handle.

The Bad Boys inserts had me guffawing and rewinding for another look. Excellent stuff, indeed.

As far as the game itself is concerned, I may well pick it up at a later date just to see how the Price/Soap single-player storyline pans out.

I was put off the multiplayer aspect after MW2 with all the exploits and later out-and-out hacking that emerged (not to mention the oft-mentioned prevalence of the "squeaky-12-year-old-sweary-kid" factor), so I'll probably not see much of that, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy what I do play.

Maybe the "just one more unlock" urge may get me to play a bit more but it'll have to drag me away from the intense vehicular chaos of Battlefield 3, sooooo... hey, who knows?

Sounds pretty boring. I think I will get this, when it´s cheaper, somehow Modern Warfare isn´t that thrilling anymore. And I think it shows, that the people that originally made CoD are absent from this one.

It´s a pass for me.

This should keep me busy until Skyrim ruins my plasma.

But no game can ever be reviewed in a vacuum, without other games for context the five point scale is utterly meaningless.

I'll probably wait to buy this, but I've always had a soft spot for COD single player. But man that multiplayer is lookin a little stale, even with the changes.

Time to enjoy myself a few months of arcadey FPS infantry action that BF3 and the ever decreasing numbers of QuakeWorld servers don't deliver..
 
..but jesus christ what a botch-job they made with the PS3 version again. It's like they have the same PRES BUTAN platform converting that Treyarch used for Black Ops. It's honest to god shamefully bad and should not be supported.

Great video review, I might get it when its way cheaper, but knowing CoD that will probably never happen.
