I really liked Ghostbusters: The Video Game(2009).

I was under the impression that the Ghostbusters game was relatively well received. What was bad about it?

I think High Voltage also did the new-gen port of "Saints Row IV" and then created "Gat Out of Hell" under Volition's watch.

EDIT: Oh, Jeff eventually got to it. Don't mind me.

I remember the voice acting was generally bad, with Bill Murray being the worst, figuratively sleep-walking through his perfomance. (Adding insult to injury, the audio mixing on the dialogue was also done poorly.)

I liked Ghostbusters 2009 as well. I don't think it was great, but I feel like the talk kinda misrepresented how good it was.

So disappointed Drew didn't do Take Me Out here. Damn you, Ryckert.

Sweet, was not expecting to get another Demo Derby this soon. And for best movie with a wrestler in it, MacGruber may be a strong choice, but c'mon, the unironic answer is Guardians of the Galaxy.

I am up to the Ghostbusters bit, and I have to say - these games have all looked really good so far...

Ghostbusters II is a fine film.

I feel the same way. Kind of impressed with some of those games in retrospect a bit. The physics stuff in Ghosbusters and the ground in IL-2. But I have a lot of nostalgia for this period too I'm realizing. Like Drew said, early Giant Bomb stuff and I just really loved early 360.

I liked the Ghostbusters game enough to get every achievement point I could. I remember the multiplayer being dead so I never got those achievements. This game is great and the hate they have for it is surprising.

I thought the same. I remember picking it up because of the positive buzz and really liking it.

I worked on that Raven Squad game, and know those guys in the thumbnail. That was basically a producer and a QA guy traipsing through a nearby field for the cheapest trailer ever made. (Also, that game pretty OK, if you turned the dialogue off.)

I hated this era of games, it was so boring, all these games are just bad. I just stuck to the PC and didn't play this generation of consoles much, but I didn't really play much from 2005-2010. It was minecraft and the indie revolution era that got me back.

Now I have to say gaming is the best it's ever been, we even have the PlayStation type era of crazy brand new ideas thanx to vr and steam early access.

Man, remember Lost Planet guys? That was one of those series where the staff would dunk on it and bunch of people in the forums/comments would freak out. Especially in regards to Brad. I think it may have been the peek of the Brad-hate on this site, now that I think about it.

@sesquipedaliant: Yeah, I actually bought Raven Squad with my own money and finished it. There's probably not many other people who can make that claim. I still have it too.

@joystickjunkie: Metal Arms was a very cool game. Still have a copy of that somewhere.

As not a big Ghostbusters fan, I liked that game. Not amazing or anything, but some good fun.

@quadrophrenic: Yeah, Gaijin developed IL2- Birds of Prey specifically; Published by 1C. You can see the origins of War Thunder in Gaijin's early games like Wings Of Prey as well. The original IL2 Sturmovik was developed by 1C

I think the cow movie Dan was talking about was just called "Barnyard". I might be wrong but I do know it was a Nickelodeon movie from the guys that did Jimmy Neutron.

Jeff gets so angry about Madballs Babo: Invasion and it's really funny. That game was really awful.

This lacked the "charm" of earlier demo discs, but still a fun showing...though I still really need Demo Derby more often in my life.

Man. I had forgotten how much Lost Planet sucked. The design always seemed unnecessarily complicated for the simple gameplay.

God, UP is such a good movie.
