There better be an elaborate story line to this. No self aware BS either, tell those actors to act their hearts out. It's the only way to be sure.

@Dustpan: yeah that must be what he is reffering to.

Although Jeff had only mentioned most wanted and burnout paradise in that question.

so its pretty weird answer he is giving.

by the way, great interview by Jeff here, he knows his burnout for sure.

I'm honestly surprised Jeff didn't ask about Razor Callahan. Or maybe he just knows the answer and can't bear to ask.

It's much better with no static ha ha. Great interview. I love Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit, so pretty much anything Criterion is making has me instantly interested.

I am really hopeful for this game after learning about the online challenges, that was my favourite part about Burnout Paradise. And I could have sworn I heard my doorbell go off a few times in this video! The unmistakable chime.

It's too bad Matt heard Hot Pursuit in his head when Jeff said Most Wanted. I completely understand it given his situation but can't help but think the answer would have been more interesting if he had heard the question correctly.

Edit: "optimize their lo.. roll out" nice save.

Kinda disappointed that its "customization for gameplay" i like modding the cars and stuff, and of course those things will effect gameplay. But i wish we could go back to the past of NFS where your adding vinyls and logos and graphics to your cars. Being a PS3 owner who doesn't have access to Forza, it saddens me that those features were completely taken away from Need For Speed. I'm holding out hope that those things will be included in this game.

Criterion's : Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Paradise 2 that's the name of this game, yeah criterion makes great games I love Burnout (not Paradise) to death but no Black List , no customization and not having a heat level that will actually matter (because everything will turn arround Autolog) doesn't say Most Wanted to me and aesthetically just looks kinda generic white clean background with bright red letters... probably is gonna be great but I don't know why they even called it Most Wanted.

I don't know how I feel about this yet. I so want a good NFS game again. Like Most Wanted, Underground 2 and even Carbon. So far it just doesn't sound like this is what people had in mind when they think Most Wanted. I've said it before. Since Hot Pursuit (2010) NFS has felt like a Facebook esque game where people post thier times and just compete with their friends that way. Give me the epic 15 person blacklist. The story (great or not) to drive me through the single player. Give me full on customization. Makes me wonder why this game is called Most Wanted. Im cautiously optimistic.

Also, why the hell did the demo have a yellow Porsche? Reminded me of Porsche Unleashed. Where is the iconic BMW?!?!? I saw in a screen shot before E3 with a BMW and that got me excited. Made me think that maybe these guys won't fuck it up. I don't know any more.

Time Trotters served as an implicit moratorium on "time travel badasses" in fiction. The very notion of Harmonix's "dance crimes" and the speculative fiction to back them up may serve as a causal effect that precipitates the advent of the technology and goads average citizens into fearful lobbying. The notion of going back in time to stop someone from doing something proscribed "now" but permitted "then" is also a well-chartered trope. This "Bonfire of Eternity," albeit fictional, predicts a future where condescending dismissal serves to rationalize ideas or actions viewed as confusing or taboo. By ostracizing people for participating in mundane and short-lived movements, we destroy one of our key distinguishing traits as humans. Eventually, we as a species perish due to our conditioned superiority and cannibalistic lack of approval. This is mainstream endorsement of a breed of cultural imperialism that applies retroactively and casually condemns every participating individual as if the offending gyration manifested weapons of mass destruction: dangerous rifts that hang in space-time until implosion... IN AMERICA. Revisionist history, ageist propaganda, self-minded entitlement, all serving a romantic delusion of personal comfort and an affirmation of OUR importance, NOW. It seems the dystopic prophecy has some merit.

Need for Speed doesn't do much for me, but Criterion know how to make great racing games and it does look fantastic. Wasn't a huge fan of Burnout: Paradise (give me Takedown anyday) but still excited.

@bondbill: Sure we'll have customization but no way it'd be as in the depth as MW had (body kits , decals) I'd like to be proven wrong but I bet they'll make autolog their focus rather than the progresion of the original MW, I like how the Black List worked and each tier ended up in some sort of boss battle , the game will probably be great but this is Criterion's version of Most Wanted rather than a new Most Wanted hell I'll probably play it but is not what I was expecting when EA decided to bring Most Wanted again.

That would be like saying all Paradise was, race crash random car to unlock it race again... is a racing game.

That would be like saying all Paradise was, race crash random car to unlock it race again... is a racing game.

Burnout Paradise had racing, trick mode when you had a certain time to do tricks linking up the tricks with the boost like a manual in Tony Hawk Pro Skater, smash all the billboards\gates, rare cars would randomly race pass you and if you smashed them you would unlock them, each street had a time trail and a showtime highscore plus a leaderboard on your friends list, plus the amazing challenge mode where you would have to team up and work toghether to do 250 of these challenges for example you and 7 others had to do a barrel roll of the highest peak in the game at the same time. I spent 150 hours getting the S Rank and that was before the amazing DLC island they added on plus all the free add-ons like day night cycle and motorbikes There was even a mode we you had to do crazy paralel parking, theres a reason its my favourite game ever. Burnout just put the open world in open world racing games.

To my memory Most Wanted was a watered down NFS Underground game that took place at daytime, that involved going though the checklist of races.
