Vinnie - Jason - Abby!!!! (Or and bomb fans) -- What kind of lights do you use in the background of the hotel room? The blue red and white. I want to get some LED lights for my walls at home - was wondering what a good solution is!

@elixirbronze: I think Abby's a great hire for Giantbomb but I'm exactly the opposite. I'm here for the industry veteran analysis and expertise. There are plenty of fan/influencers streams of people watching the E3 conferences at this point and we'll hear her interesting viewpoint on the Beastcast and post e3 day live streams no doubt. For the industry trade show I feel Giantbomb should actually use its unique selling point and the reason I pay money to the website. A bunch of duders who know a tonne about this industry.

Aside from maybe Jeff, I don't know if their historical knowledge of the industry is unique enough to warrant the subscribtion at all. They don't know much at all about current games when you compare it to what you call "influencers".

Regardless, that stopped being the reason I pay for Giant Bomb a long time ago, I pay for the laughs they bring, which lately they do less and less often.

And, even if it was their "top expert analysis" I wanted from these press conferense talk overs, surely it wouldn't be ruined just because one of the voices were less experienced than the others?

Nah it'd be better if they just kept it to the editorial staff for me. Not ruined didn't say that. But I prefer the current lineup over Abby being included in this particular case of press conferences. There's enough voices already. Sometimes it's cool to have something different.

https://www.giantbomb.com/podcasts/my-first-e3-episode-1/1600-1989/ is for you. It's good to have different things for different people who are fans of the site for different reasons. Peace.

On a totally separate note. I'd be FASCINATED to see how much Jeff could make off a Patreon for a start-up video game website where he's the boss and he doesn't have to follow the rules! hehe

Men in Blazers are to soccer as Giant Bomb is to video games, so it hurt a little bit to hear them just knee-jerk trash talk them.

Agreed

They say that sort of stuff because they all know their jobs and livelihoods are being threatened. YT and Twitch are so much more popular than this site, so they all lash out with snide comments because they know their days are numbered. Jeff is probably the only one on GB that could leave, start a Patreon, Twitch, and be successful. The rest would/could never do it. YTers and Twitch streamers are out there busting their ass, posting new content, or streaming 5 days a week, and in some cases EVERY day. The west coast office could barely put out a podcast and a quicklook once a week.

Those oh so hard working streamers sitting down to their computers and hooking up a mic and getting hundreds of dollars in donations an hour to play video games. Must be like working in the coal mines doing that 5 days a week.

Those GB guys must be horribly lazy only putting out a few hours of videos a week compared to the dozens of hours of new and great content streamers and youtubers put out.

I'm actually surprised someone in the community actually called them on it, because the user base here usually comes across as duder worshipping automatons that agree with everything they say.

So setting up OBS then playing games with overly exaggerated ridiculous reactions equals "busting their ass", wow, I really don't know what to say to your comment...

If that's the sole future of this industry, I'm out.
