Oh wow, remember seeing an arcade machine of this on holiday one year. Seeing the fire level triggered the memory. Thought it looked stunning. They had a smash TV machine in the other corner as well.

Think I ended up buying Nemesis on the GameBoy thinking it was the same (which it turns out it was similar).

Life Force was along with Ikari Warriors one of the best Co-Op games on the NES.

Now this was a good edition. A game you have a history with and are knowledgeable about. Unlike the Yoshi's Island edition whose only purpose was to defend the game from Jeff.

Life Force! I remember spending a summer playing the shit out of this game. Don't think I was able to beat it without the code? Maybe? The Pharaoh head is a real douche, I remember if you could get past it with a certain amount of lives, you knew that you could probably finish the game.

Damn, Alex used to live in Williamsburg? That's awesome.

:) Wow, such a fun game when I was a kid. It was a simpler time in respect to video games. yeah, I would work on my paper route for months to afford a new nes game. Thanks for the bombastica and tons of sweet 80's references!

Great game! God, that silver Konami box art brings me back to the video rental store when I was a kid.

Then shortly later I got into RuneScape and they didn't allow underscores I think, so I contracted it to Mdnthrvst.

I'm no expert, but it should be pronounced "Gradius" and not "Gradius".

Heh, no but the Japanese title is spelled Guradiusu and not Gureidiusu so it should be the "a" as in "ah" and not "eh".

Oh how did I miss this earlier? Life Force was the very first game I ever rented, and remains one of my favorite shooters ever.
