I can't believe Patrick said summons didn't occur until FFVII.

Meh. Brad has the Final Fantasy chops in the office. No big deal.

Patrick was correct that everyone can have every spell in FF8. Of course you can do it in FF6 too. And FF7 if you count materia swapping as "learning" (which you shouldn't). I haven't played the others in so long I can't remember. God damn I'm looking forward to the FFX HD release!

There was way too much progress in this episode! Where are the colorblind-related deaths?

I'm sorta surprised at myself for being genuinely proud and happy when they finally figured it out, by experimenting like a BOSS! This was a really fun episode, it's back on now!

P.S: You guys missed a chest, you totally suck :P J/K

"Summons didn't happen 'til 7." Yeah... no.

At least they're reading the text now. Next step is learning that Lightning 2 is the same as Lightning, but hits all.

I'm glad to see that the Giant Bomb community has decided to carry their time honored tradition of always having something to complain or be angry about into the new year. Always be bitching, duders!

Stopped watching half way through the last episode. Glad to see they made practically no progress.

EDIT: Wow! It took them that long to read the screen. Seriously, just wow.

Oh, shut up. It's comments like these that make ER comment threads about as mindnumbingly idiotic as Youtube comment threads.

No, it devolves to that level whenever someone in the comments calls them "Byan" or "Batrick".

That's strange, I didn't know comment threats were suppose to be anything in particular. I still, for the life of me, can't understand how some people read other's comments when they don't have to and then complain (yes, that is exactly what I'm doing now, but it's to highlight that very point) about how idiotic they are. And by comparing the comment threads of different websites you are effectively portraying yourself as the restaurant critic equivalent of Internet comment threads: "I don't recommend Youtube: they're comments are mind-numbing, 2 stars." Kinda seems pointless.

It "devolves" to a certain level? You make it sound like you're actually in place with other people, like a bunch of text can have a physical presence that can actually affect your life to the point where you need to tell people to "shut up". Why do you guys even read comments in the first place; go talk to real people who will enlighten you so you can evolve to a higher "level".

(By the way, I call him Bryan not Byan.)

Not everyone has played this game, I for one am really enjoying just sitting back, seeing the action and enjoying the chat.

If they were playing it and you were with them, in person, having played the game already yourself, would you be telling them exactly how to play it, exactly what stratagys to use and spoiling all the suprises? No, because that would be dick-ish.

Games are about discovery, taking what you've learnt from other games, and bettering yourself as a player. If they did something you wouldn't have done, don't go hating on them just because they've had a different games experience throughout their lives.

Also I know FF3 was never released in the US until recently. But there was a summoner class there as well. Also Patrick has mentioned FF6 before that whole game's story is based around summons.

They're lucky they killed those scouts on the elevator quickly, or else they would've gotten a Delta Attack.

Patricks comment about summons in FF7 may be more related to the long, cinematic cutscenes that take forever and cant be skipped? The older ons had them, but they were more just like regular spells?

And then after, them laughing at themselves, that's how you know someone's cool.

I just never saw the point of Silver and Gold Earring in Chrono Trigger. It gives you a bit of an HP buffer, but if it's a long boss fight, eventually you're still going to need a fair amount of turns healing the party members that don't have Gold Earring. So maybe it buys you like 1-2 turns where you can pass on healing that character, but it's really a pretty middling effect overall. Plus if you do all the side stuff before finishing the game, your level is usually high enough that most of your HPs for the melee characters is 800 or 900, so the extra 50% is pointless because you're only getting like 100 extra HP (999 is the max).

The Silver and Gold Studs are both pretty great. I actually used Rage Band quite a bit, because there's a 1/3 chance that whoever has it gets attacked (unless there is more to the targeting AI than I thought).

Also, it's really unfortunate that Ryan didn't realize Max Cyclone could change targets, because it's usually really easy to find a central target. Whatever the speed item is (Speed Belt?), I'm pretty sure I had it on Robo the whole game, because he's so damn slow.
