These online heists were and are the the best thing R* has ever done. Each one is hours long and actually fun to play.

Haven't started yet, about to watch it. Just want to say though, I'm a huge fan of the new description tab on the side of the video.

The revamped video page is so much better than the previous versions. I don't have to do extra work to get the name of the show to use for the download title.

@ironoctopus89: Reading this comment, it suddenly occurred to me that GTAV is a 6 year old game. Christ, the time has gone fast.

Yes, for me at least - GTA 5 Online (especially the heists) is Rockstar's Magnum Opus, followed by Vice City, but that has aged and it perhaps wasn't that good as I remember it.

With three reasonable sane friends you can have many hours of fun with the Heists and the other missions. And since there are different options and different roles they also offer lots of replay value. Hardest difficulty and a tight team is really fun, and sometimes really, really tense. Until you grinded it a bit too much and can do it with one eye shut.

I haven't watched this full video yet, only the first minute of the stream. Waiting for the download.

But I already have some inner questions:
* Why do a series in GTA 5 Online now?
* Why pre-recorded?
* Why stream the pre-record on a live stream?
* Didn't you guys (GB crew) hate GTA 5 Online? I have some weak memories of hearing hate, maybe from Jeff. Don't remember, may be wrong.
* Will this be fun to watch now, like several years late(er) I (and perhaps most people) was into it? And after it have been played to death on Twitch and Youtube?
* How will the editing be? The first minute showed some snappy cuts and a bad attempt at role playing. I really hope they do 2 and 4 screen split screen later on. Or cuts that focus on the most interesting screen for the moment, with perhaps a small PIP and a nametag/icon/photo.

Anyways, will perhaps be back when the video processing is done.

This was a ton of fun; I can't wait to get into the heists proper from next week onwards! Thanks for doing this opening bit live, too - it was nice to have the question and answer stuff, it broke things up a little too given that we were seeing the same mission twice for this first episode (complete with all of Lester's "excellent" monologues).

I'm glad this all finally came together! No worries about the little issues you mentioned caused by the recording logistics; for all of its issues, GTAO heists are among the most fun multi-player missions I've encountered anywhere, so it'll be great to watch the Crime Crew make their way through them all. Thanks for taking the time to stick through all the connectivity issues, interfering players, and other nonsense to put this all together (and to edit it into a much more easily-watchable format).

This is one of the coolest segments I've seen from Giant Bomb.. I remember you guys had spoken about doing some GTA5 stuff a few months back, and I had forgotten about it. Turns out, it's great! Please make more of these segments, this is simply awesome! It's worth the technical hurdles!

I appreciate the desire to comment but pretty much all your questions are clearly answered over the course of this video (which was partly why they chose to run it live for episode 0). So don't worry too much, I'm pretty sure they've got things covered as best they can for a game which is a ton of fun but can also be a logistical nightmare.

How do I get rid of auto playing videos? This update just broke the resume functionality for me and replaced it with auto playing videos

This is a neat idea, but *ugh* I wish it wasn't GTA. I realize I'm very much in the minority on this, but I just think it's unbelievably lame. I find 99% of the characters and dialogue to be off-the-charts levels of douche, and not in a funny way. Just in a douche way.

That said, I'm hopeful there'll be plenty of patented GBeast hijinks to make it a fun series!

Man, I loved GTA V so much! I still love just loading it up and tooling around that world every now and then. Also, did Tangerine Dream do the instrumental score for GTA Online? I still listen to their super cool score for the single player all the time.

As far as the Michael Mann-ness of the heists, I know Alex loves "Heat" but I think Mann's 1981 film, "Thief" starring the great Jimmy Caan, maybe should've been required viewing for the Crime Crew. It was all about the heist and also has an amazing Tangerine Dream score. Just sayin' :)

I thought it said "Giant Crime Crew" and I was going to make a joke like "why are you doing a series about the current White House administration"

@bakoomerang: Pretty much why I never got into any of the games. I never enjoyed their take on humor or 'satire'. Lester was incredibly cringey during the whole thing.

The attention span between the two teams is night and day. Will be interesting to see how that translates to the 4 player heists.
