Wooo Episode 2!

Episode 1 got me to play through the entire game on 00-Agent in an emulator with a mouse and keyboard over the weekend. It was so utterly cathartic. Can't wait to see how this goes on an N64 with a controller.

Way to finish these levels, I actually jumped at the end.

Action movie ending if I ever saw one.

The openings for this series really are fantastic.

Can't wait to watch this! The intro is truly legendary.

Forgot how good the soundtrack is for this game. Just bringing back a lot of memories.

@curryspiced: I love this idea! Despite playing this a lot growing up I have never seen it and was considering watching it to get some of the references but i may hold off in case this happens.

Can we... can we get them to do that before Dan finishes this? Because I am almost convinced this series will end when they get to episode 700, after 689 episodes of trying to beat Train :(

Also, if we could have a film and 40s of Casino Royale (The 1967 comedy) that'd be great too. The film is ridiculous and has Peter Sellers and David Niven in who both would have made good bonds in different ways.

Having a lot of fun watching this series so far. So nostalgic.

A couple tips. One I think Dan has sort of figured out, that some rapid fire/burst weapons fire single shot if you're aiming (with the reticle on screen).

As well, your shot accuracy is higher if you crouch.

Also, you can shoot through glass windows to be extra stealthy. Also also, when in doubt, check what items you have.

Back in the day we had our buddy who was crazy good at Goldeneye, and even for him, the Facility cheat was quite the difficult ordeal.

this episode had so many epic endings to levels. holy moly

As a young kid I spent the best part of two weeks getting that sub 2:05 facility on 00 agent. totally worth it but it required so much luck on Doak placement and basically avoiding shooting the guards for most of the run.

getting every cheat time was definitely a highlight of my childhood. Also Goldeneye was the only game I owned at the time so of course I did everything.

3 hours is too long! You guys need to rethink that length. What is the percentage of people that listen all the way through the podcasts?

It's great watching this and immediately remembering everything about this game especially the awesome music. Also, glad I had a GameShark to unlock all those cheats because that seems infuriating.

@physicalos: It’s perfect for people like me that listen to podcasts while travelling to and from work. Listening to the Beastcast and Bombcast make my time sat in rush hour traffic a lot more bearable.

Fun tip, Dan: holding aim and pushing the left or right c button allows you to do a quick peek to either side (it's also pretty effective at dodging bullets since you move very fast) (I'm also basing this purely on muscle memory because I haven't played this game in a decade and I'm too lazy to confirm that this is correct)

Ugh, there were a few times where I wished I could have karate chopped the controller out of Dan's hands and taken over. So many wasted bullets. :(

But very good otherwise! Awesome progress this episode, Dan is becoming Bond!

Wish I didn’t blow through both episodes in a day before finding out a new ep won’t be out for a while. Looking forward to the next episode of GolDanEye!

My heart was POUNDING at the end of the Surface level. Also the Silo level has so so many scientists in it compared to the Facility so that should be fun!
