Great categories and even greater quick looks as always. The crazy wizard theme fits Brad's overall tastes this year. Although I like these videos so far I'm a little confused about the whole "audience guess for an editor's top game" thing. I guess I should have paid closer attention to the happenings of the site but I had multiple holiday obligations to uphold this year. No time to troll boards for some poll that determines a quick look for the GOTY stuff. I'm curious as to if it also determined the game each staffer actually ends up giving their top spot. So I guess since I couldn't contribute to this little endeavor I'll go out on a limb and guess that Jeff will choose Mortal Kombat or Trackmania 2 as number 1 on his list.

My main reason for watching these has become seeing more Virtual Vinny.

For such amazing music, I wish the actual fighting looked a bit more exciting. I suppose there's no way to have both the exploration and the action game combat. Maybe Kingdoms of Amalur, hopefully. It seems to have menus that are so much more boring and bland, but that's a decent tradeoff to me.

@Redhotchilimist: I think it's probably safe to say it's more exciting to play than it is to watch, because the tension is there when you're the one actually fighting to survive. Once you've leveled up enough and have kitted yourself out with awesome equipment, then it's another story -- then dragon fights are pretty much just you kicking the lizard's sorry ass in a matter of seconds. Music still kind of fits, though, because then it's less about the seriousness of the threat, and more about you being a total badass.

Your mileage may vary, of course.
