Game of the Year 2012: Drew's Top 10

It's amazing how Drew has managed to keep his pronunciation of mult-eye-player after working for three+ years at a place where I believe everyone uses the more common mult-ee-player pronunciation.

This is probably my favorite top 10 list so far. Between the games chosen and how he presents them, goddamnit Drew fucking NAILS it. Also, fuck yeah Diablo 3! So far, there seems to be one exception that I don't agree with but every staff list has been pretty awesome so far and pretty diverse, which is awesome.

Gotta love that Drew's interstitials are b-roll footage from that day's recap feature.

For a dude that's always behind the camera, Drew seems quite comfortable in front of it.

Reach was my game of the year a couple years ago, but 4 is my #3 this year. The fact that Drew marathoned the trilogy and still came away impressed is saying something.

By far the best presented top ten.

Always love's Drew's stuff. For a guy whose job it is to make things run behind-the-scenes, he's one of the most comfortable and charismatic on-camera presences in the entire GB crew.

Thank God for Drew. A lot of the top 10's can feel like the same games placed in different orders but with Drew, Vinny and Dave you know there's going to be some off the beaten path ones.

Excellent list. I really liked the concise justifications and the general variety of games on display. Great to see Spec Ops in a prominent spot as well. Additionally, the FTL description is so fucking spot on and summarizes my feelings exactly.

Drew's feelings on Halo 4 are quite similar to my own.

What's the verdict you guys? Should I pick up Chivalry or War of the Roses?

Drew, if you ever get bored of video production and behind-the-scenes stuff (but to be honest, when is that ever going to happen considering how RIDICULOUSLY talented you and VInny are going by the GOTY 'shorts'), consider becoming an editor, or a full-time presenter - or both! I bet it is a pretty satisfying balance you've striking though. And yes, this:

I think Chivalry seems like the more solid game, at least at succeeding at doing what it tries to do. War of the Roses tries to do stuff at a larger scale with horses and all that stuff, but seems much more janky, both as technical flaws and just weird design choices. Both seem fun, so if you can afford it you probably should get them both, but seems to me like the older Mount & Blade games actually handled most of what War of the Roses tries to do better.

You're not just really smart, you're actually pretty funny too, and I found myself agreeing with a lot of your top ten picks, although I haven't got to play several of them, including the DCS games.

And also on Spec Ops. What a broken man Captain Walker becomes. My second favorite game of the year, just does storytelling so well in every aspect of the game rather than just cutscenes.
