A sugar rush isn't actually a real thing, eating sugar doesn't have any effect on behavior or activity level. fun fact.

@gsquirrelgo: Dangit NH, stop stealing Maine's stuff! That's our official state soft drink and treat! You have fireworks and a huge rest stop/liquor store! I've actually never had a Moxie, so I'm a shame to my homeland (probably even more of a shame now that I live in Mass). Whoopie pies on the other hand, I grew up with homemade ones. It's weird that they've kind become a popular thing now. Anyway, nice mailbag - even if it came from NH.

Wait, am I missing something dumb? Why can't drew have anything in the whoopie pies?

Listen to this weeks podcast.

I've been so behind on podcasts, I usually don't have time to get them out of the way before the next week's podcast drops.

Ah, Well the short version is Drew is allergic to eggs.

Soy and gluten to be exact

Maine

Moxie and Whoopie Pies! That box is DEFINITELY from Maine.

I would just say from the Northeast. I can say for certainty that Moxie is based in New Hampshire because I happen to be drinking a bottle of Moxie right now (and I'm in upstate New York), and Whoopie Pies you can find all around the Northeast. The maple cream seems like something you'd find in one of those super old shops in downtown Boston. Basically I am 100% certain that those things came from the Northeast but I couldn't say what state exactly although I'm sure someone must be familiar with that make of Whoopie Pie which would clue us in. Also I really wanted them to drink that Moxie warm because if any drink needs to be cold it is Moxie.

Sort of. Moxie was invented in Massachusetts but it is the state drink of Maine and they have an annual Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls, Maine. I think they are headquartered in New Hampshire now. But Moxie and whoopie pies I would say are most closely associated with Maine (and don't even start with those Pennsylvania people who think they invented whoopie pies). That mailbag may have come from anywhere in the Northeast, but I deem it a Maine-ass mailbag. And now I want a damn whoopie pie.

Call subs Italians and we'll have the Maine regionalisms all up in this.

Just in case anyone missed it, on UPF they drank the Rum and said it was from New Hampshire which says to me that the rest of the food was likely from there too.

@gsquirrelgo: The Moxie gave me an idea of where it was from, but when I saw Sea Hagg, I knew it was someone from NH. NH represent! I work for the liquor commission so I see Sea Hagg and all the other local wine and spirits all day long.

I love those carts, baseball card like but games.

You know what I would want in the next gen in 6+ years time. Its downloads and are nets will handle it but you buy those cards and you could treat them like a collection and put them in a book with slots for them like you would with your collectable cards.

So functionality wise they would hold the key so your console has a slot for them and you need it in to play the game but you get the game off the net.

The cart collection and variations around the world of the cart art etc is something lost in the modern game era, this would bring it back :)

As was the norm in the early 90s, the Japanese box art SO MUCH BETTER than ours.

While I'm sure it had nothing to do with the TG16 failing here (lack of killer apps, crap pack-in game and complete lack of marketing on NEC's part were the cause of the system failing in the US for the most part), I can't imagine anyone getting these games in stores with laughable displays like this. At least games like Megaman had Nintendo Power coverage to offset how terrible the box was.

Oh, and American HuCARDs didn't have any art on them either.

Anyone happen to know what camera is being used for this? Seems like quite a nice quality picture and I wouldn't mind a new one. Or better yet, any recommendations for a decent camera for just simple recording but with a high quality picture? Having to use my webcam isn't too bad, but even with the decent picture quality it records at a low framerate and that just sucks and makes the video look shitty.

So, after seeing this I asked myself "Is a whoopie pie just a regional moon pie?" and a brief Google search told me to go fuck myself.

In case anyone else was wondering, a whoopie pie is not a moon pie.
