Quick Look: Giant Bomb Quick Look Disney Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse Starring Jeff and Brad

The jumping issue seems very disappointing. I loved the original game on the Mega Drive and everything about this game looks really good but I think I would get as frustrated as Brad seemed in this Quick Look if the button presses are not very responsive.

I think I will hold off from buying this for now. Hopefully they can release a patch to sort out the controller issue.

Yikes, that sounds like almost a full second delay on the jump. For a platformer a delay like that is a gamebreaker no matter how nice its other elements are.

OMFG! DUCK!!! JEEEEEZ!!!!

Just finished the game yesterday (on 360), and the latency really isn't that big of a deal. Especially since the game is so easy. If you are at all interested just give it a shot, it's a pretty good remake.

Oh, and yes, Magical Quest is definitely the best Mickey Mouse game.

Maybe a little late to the party but I've been playin this on PS3 via the free PS+ download and the jumping feels fine to me. It responds fine, it just seems like the actual jump itself is a little floaty.

I'm enjoying this. Never played the original.

Totally just came back to this video to see if anyone had commented on the jumping after it went free on PS Plus. There is definitely a delay to the jump but I managed to get used to it. The final boss is insanely hard, though. I literally have every collectable but like 20 gems and went into the final boss with 20+ lives and finally gave up after losing all those lives and another dozen continues worth. Game is worth the price of free but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.

I like the sub-levels that get you the cards/peppers/statues and some of the hidden collectables are fun to find. And some of the levels are pretty great looking although they also tend to perform poorly. I would say this game was better than Jeff and Brad made it out to be but the jumping controls are pretty awful. But I did manage to get used to them so there is that.

Brad brad brad . The jumping is fine . U just hafta adapt .... Or perish ! Seriously ud think he would learn to think more in quick looks . Still... Entertaining :) did someone tell them to duck a year ago ?
