That'd be amazing if we could get cross platform play in The Division using the Uplay ID as the connecting link, I just think the success of that would depend on Ubi's servers.

Salt and Sanctuary is so good! I've been bothering @Unastrike all release day on Twitter about it haha. Thanks again for introducing me to Ska Studios Jason.

Sincerely,

Yeah, totally, the Division needs giant spiders. I'd love to see dragons in Call of Duty and Splinter Cell, too. Maybe gelatinous cubes in Hitman. And how about owlbears in American Trucking Simulator?

@danryckert, I just want you to know, even as someone who played M&L: Dream Team under normal circumstances and didn't have to rush through it for review like you did, I still found that game to be unbearably long and kinda boring because the overworld is bland and the dream worlds weren't very interesting. And it's like a zillion hours long.

I'm enjoying my time more with Paper Jam, though boy, those Toad rescue missions sure are some unneeded padding.

I think the argument is that players more easily buy RPG shooter mechanics in something that is fantastical sci-fi like Borderlands or Destiny, where you could try to suspend disbelief that it takes like 40 headshots to kill a guy because maybe his sci-fi protection bullshit is pretty strong. In a Clancy, real-world-esque environment, it's a lot harder to swallow that you have to shoot regular dudes with regular guns that many times in the head before they die.

You know, I'd legitimately play a Hellgate: London sequel. Heck, the original might've been buggy as hell (pun unintended), but at least the patches were moving in the right direction to stabilize it and get it running right and I had a lot of fun with it. It's still sitting in my Origin account as a reminder that EA is a hateful beast.

That...Korean?... relaunch of it as a F2P game was rough as hell. So much Engrish and weird new mechanics that were shoehorned in.

It's hard to swallow for about 10 seconds and then you remember that oh yah, I'm playing a videogame and it's whatever. There is a suspension of disbelief happening when you play a game that in certain cases people seem to get redact for whatever reason. It's an individual thing I'm sure, as I've never personally taken umbrage with that sort of stuff, but it appears to be a huge issue for others. Lara running around in a tank top in the snowy parts of Tomb Raider, not being able to climb waist high walls, magical inventories that allow you to carry 20 swords and 15 sets of armor.. Honestly, it's not a big deal.

I don't want to generalize or judge, but it seems like people that get bothered by this to the point where it impacts their enjoyment of a game would benefit from loosening up a bit. These are games, they're not realistic in the slightest, they never were. You could poke logic holes in every release from the moment you press start, but it's a much better idea to just go with the flow and have fun with it. I realize that maybe for some people this sort of negative reaction is involuntary, maybe you just can't suspend disbelief and shooting a guy in a hoodie for two whole clips is too bitter a pill to swallow. I'm not sure what to say to that, but until games become way more realistic and writing becomes a whole lot better, for those people it's going to be a rough ride playing a lot of "serious" games in the future.

No, Jeff was just saying the enemy variation isn't interesting enough. And he's probably right, but adding giant spiders seems a bit of a stretch. I just thought that was a funny comment. "They should add some variety, like I dunno, giant spiders or something."

What they should have added was themed gangs. Mimes, baseball players, etc. And the mimes do a quick mime routine before attacking, the baseball furies--er, players swing and hit a baseball at you, etc.
