A scouser is the term generally for working-class folk from Liverpool -- it's not inherently meant as an insult. However, given that scousers have one of the most revolting accents imaginable, it's understandable to naturally feel a little warded off by it.

Although, it did lead to this fantastically funny little sketch show.

@diamonddog: Oh look at you, Mr. Internet Detective. Yeah, I'm from the Wirral, but I don't talk with a scouse accent -- or a 'plastic scouse' accent rather, I suppose. I soon became aware of how awful it is when I was in my teens and have put in a lot of effort to get rid of it since then.

@diamonddog: I'm sorry you appear to have taken offence to my comment, but... I think the scouse accent is very unpleasant to listen to, if I was to put it a little more lightly. Besides, it's not like I'm alone on this, either. The scouse accent is commonly regarded as one of England's worst.

Oh, I noticed you edited your original post. Kind of strange of you to try insult me by way of insulting The Wirral, because believe me there is zero pride going on between me and my birthplace. I may live here but that doesn't mean I'm proud to. I would gladly join in on talking shit about this dump. Also, besides the regional accent, I actually quite like Liverpool.

@yummylee: If the scouse accent is 'commonly' accepted as England's worse accent, I shudder to think what that makes the wirral accent... considering it essentially sounds like someone doing their utmost to copy it.

I just think it's pretty sad when people (who literally live on opposite sides of the same river) denigrate each other for something as uncontrollable as the accent they speak with. This part of the country gets enough bad press without us insulting each other.

This Bombcast made me hype for another Batman game. Didn't think that would happen!

Their conclusion on the pronunciation of 'scouser' was hilarious. Someone send them an email in full Cockney rhyming slang. That'll throw 'em, even if they're aware of the most common ones.

@diamonddog: You get brought up in either of those cities that rivalry just gets beaten into you from birth. I know it's stupid. I do. But every fibre of my being want's to scream "FUCK LIVERPOOL" every time I hear the word.

Tipping where I'm from would be the equivalent of telling someone you feel sorry for them. Minimum wage in America must be ridiculously low for tipping to be as customary as it is. Then you have to pay health insurance on top of that, and then you have people shooting guns at you as soon as you leave your house, not to mention the dope slinging and people rollerblading without shirts on. It's a dangerous place, America.

Haha. As a former Wirral resident, telling people that it's 'just next to Liverpool' has become a common phrase when asked abut myself. I have no hint of scouse though, unlike a lot of my old school friends. I escaped that one.

I think servers get paid less than minimum wage, because they're expected to get minimum wage after tips or something. So, we don't really tip, we just pay their salary so the restaurant or whatever doesn't have to. Because we are that dumb.

Oh... Brad has gotten into his "downward spiral" effect of disliking a game (RE inFamous)

He always starts off disliking a game, and as he gets further away from playing it he just likes it less and less, even if he hasn't played it in weeks. It's like he confirms to himself how much he dislikes something every time he talks about it
