I do wish I had the same reactions that Vinny has to VR, mine are more akin to Jeff's in that heights don't bother me and I always know it is just a video screen. The Google Earth thing can be made a bit easier by having a phone or other computer running Google Maps which can used to guide the VR'er closer to the spot they are looking for. Having said that I'm going to don my Vive and try to find that Abu Dhabi skyscraper without looking it up and hope my geography is up to the challange.

I'm starting to wonder how long it's going to take for VR to take off, if at all. The platform still hasn't even got it's Wii Sports yet, there is nothing that sells it as a must own. For me I watch all this stuff and it's like... ok... I feel so muted on it all, I get nothing out of it. I've tried Gear VR and PSVR, they both did nothing for me, everything feels like an overpriced 5 min tech demo.

I think to myself if the resolution was 8K, so it had 1000PPI or whatever and it looked super slick, then I'd love to play Roller Coaster Tycoon or something in it. However VR takes so much effort and drains you.. I think I'd still just prefer to sit in front of a nice Monitor.

East coast needs a Vive!

I thought I would feel like this but after a while of owning a Vive I don't see that being an option. The screen door effect is still there. Until they fix that issue in new revisions with higher res displays the idea of playing high fidelity games on a poor screen strapped to my face sounds completely unappealing when I have a 1440p and 4k screen to use.

yea everyone of these just outdoes the next - the first one with the watching of the video I didn't think could get any better than I watched the hitsmas video and I was like nope this is the top - then this vid opened in the making fun of their own openings, the enterprize vr, and the borg joke. I don't know how they get better than this!
