What a good way to start a Friday!

I waited up tonight so I could watch Dan and Drew's next episode. Again, kudos to Dan. Not since Breaking Brad: Demon's Souls has a Giant Bomb Video Feature hooked me like this. Also. Good luck out there, Drew!

I don't recommend using video game songs (or any song for that matter) as an alarm clock.

I wake up to the 8-bit version of the Persona 4 battle theme and I now hate that song :(

Drew's Raiden impression is 100% SPOT ON.

I'm glad that early on, Drew is already fed up with Rose's bullshit.

@bigmess: Yup, made the same mistake (with a lot of songs).. songs you like, after a few weeks you can't stand it..

Jason really needs to guide him more, or this is gonna take forever and get really boring. Not hand holding guiding, but at least more hints.

I never realized until now that Phil LaMarr voices Vamp. That's super weird.

I feel that after watching a few episodes of Metal Gear Dara O'Briain sums up Drew's play-style best :P

That codec delay is annoying, also the codec in MGS1/TS looked cooler.

2 is the best metal gear

Drew is the worst Metal Gear player ever, and I love every second of the videos.

@unastrike I'm so happy you told them where to go. This video could have ended up being 3hrs+ long.

Yeah... He finds the hole in the fence pretty quickly but then gets sidetracked due to missing an obvious path to strut AB. I love this video series, but it hurts sometimes.

Couldn't get to sleep. Got up and wandered in search of comfort. Found Metal Gear Scanlon. All is right with the world.

@privodotmenit: The codec delay is only in the HD version. Also MGS1 codec didn't have the hidden thought buttons and the ability to move and zoom the characters. MGS2 codec is the best codec in the series.

Outside of this video series, Drew seems like a super smart guy. There are times watching him play this though, in situations completely unrelated to controls or moment-to-moment gameplay, that I wonder if he has been spending way too much time with Dan Ryckert.

Not really a complaint, I love watching Drew bumble through this series, just the disconnect between the man who I'm pretty sure has logged legitimate flight hours and could probably do a barrel roll in a Cessna and the man who appears to have severe problems understanding how to use a map continues to confound me.

I don't like the 3D models in this codec, anyhow watching this makes me remember that Raiden is the worst.

I'm an idiot and set the Codec sound to my ringtone. So when I hear the sound I immediately come to attention even when I'm listening to older episodes of Metal Gear Scanlon.

Also the HD version has another voice pop in for Colonel certain controls and it sounds super weird.

Yes! Prefect timing! I've just made lunch (meatballs with pasta and cheese sauce) and turned on my computer to see that a new episode of MGScanlon has arrived! Wonderful! Time to eat and watch!

With both this game and the first MGS Drew is doing about as good as I did when I originally played them. I also had trouble finding the hole in the fence, even on repeated playthroughs, and started going the wrong way towards the other struts more than one time at the start of the game.

Like the first MGS, it is interesting to come back to this many years later with an expanded understanding of Japanese character types. It just makes me hate Rose all the more though, now that I have a general sense of what type of anime archetype she is modeled after.

Yeah Drews not great at games. Jason is giving too much help. Who cares if it takes all episode to solve a problem, thats what happens.
