When he reaches out to catch the butterfly and he can't cause he lost depth perception that's kinda of a cool little scene for Snake.

If you save after the Vampire Bat conversation in the PS2 versions, you can also trigger that dream sequence that Dan keeps talking about. Kinda cool that snake mentions the nightmares and that triggers it. Oh, Kojima.

Also, If your batteries are drained they will get the slightest bit of recharge, like, one pixel of the energy bar from eating the Russian Glowcap.

Pull ups are all about your lats, man. They hit your biceps, triceps, forearms, and back a decent amount as well, but they'll mainly work your lats. I find pull ups far harder than chin ups.

I'm honestly surprised Dan can't do one pull up even though he can do 50 pushups. I'm guessing he maybe hasn't tried in awhile, and since he's gotten in better shape he could probably do 5 or so if he attempted it now.

Heck, I'm not in amazing shape but I can easily do 10 standard pull ups in a row, while I can just barely do 30 push ups. I'd estimate I'm about at Dan's size and weight as well.

Man.... some of the Codec dialogue in this game is legitimately hilarious, in both writing and delivery. I forgot how funny it was. Really great stuff.

OMG, I had this same thought about pullups just earlier this week. I can do 10 x seated lat pulldowns @ 210lbs. but 10 pullups is the hardest thing in the world for me. It's depressing really. It ruined my back/ bicep day I was so depressed about it.

Garter snakes are good to have in a garden. I think the only thing they "mess up" is a person's mental state if they're afraid of them. And there's no reason to be afraid, considering how they want nothing to do with people and are non-venomous.

Sucks how vilified snakes are.

Drew seems so done with this game, lol. There's no way that waterfall incident would have happened if he was in a good place and really enjoying himself. Poor guy. At least it's almost over though. Good on him for trucking through and being a good sport about it. We all appreciate it. Well, those of us who aren't bitching and moaning every step of the way, that is. I hope and expect he'll have a better time with MGS4, but ya never know.

Him fighting The Boss is going to be interesting though. She requires you to use two of the game's unusual controls in tandem; peeking "up" while crawling with L2+R2 and aiming down sights by half pressing square and holding L1, at the same time, and while also of course holing R1 for first-person, meaning all four shoulder buttons in all and also a light touch on square. Drew is going to hate that considering he's already complained multiple times about having to hold too many buttons down and not liking the pressure sensitive button stuff.

I wish ye well brave soldier. The Boss is going to whoop ya something fierce, but then again she is the mother of the special forces and the coolest woman in all of video games, so it's only fair. We should all feel privileged to get our asses whooped by The Boss.

Should have called EVA after your backpack is returned - Snake gives her some grief for eating the food he had stashed in it. Might still work if you call her a few times before the next major ruckus.

I found it funny how Dan called kids idiots, because Dan is just a very large kid. Which explains why he is an idiot, and like a kid, it is mostly endearing.

You totally don't have to fight her like that. You can just dodge her CQC attack to make her fall to the ground and then just open up on her while she's lying there. You just have to figure out the correct timing to dodge her attacks.

I would play a Metal Gear game where you play the further adventures of EVA.

I really try to understand Dan or at least get where he is coming from but I just can't do it. I think I have to just accept I'm not the demographic for his style. He always comes off as a High Schooler Frat Boy. "I'll give you a Dollar if you Eat this" "I bet you" "I get drunk all the time, whooohoooo" I wish he could learn to produce so Jason could get on the other side of the camera more.

I hoped if Dan did more features with Drew he would grow up but I think the opposite is happening.

The idea of me as a jock or frat guy is hilarious to me. I was the biggest nerd ever in high school and hated frats when I was in college.

I assume thats why he looks away a little embarrassed and upset, because as a soldier he lost something very important. Also I think thats why he's so happy with himself at the end of the episode when he throws the clay butterfly C3 up and catches it, because without depth perception thats actually not that easy and it's sort of him saying "I still got it, still in the game."

Soooooo... @danryckert, I guess Drew isn't ever going to get the ultra bad-ass sneaking suit? I mean, it's located way back in one of the lockers that he hid Raikov in.
