Sadly, I've really been looking forward to this.

Any word on the PS1, PS2 backwards compatibility patch that is obviously total bullsh*t but I keep hoping for it because I'm an asshat?

Fun fact… I'm pretty sure that Ninja Kun/Ninja Kid is the inspiration for Ninja Robot Haggle Man from Retro Game Challenge.

The crowd in Exciting Hour is pretty great apart from Vader there is Superman in the top right edge and weirdly enough a dude with what looks like a Einstürzende Neubauten Shirt (a german industrial band).

Also the Acropolis Background in Bomb Jack is appropriate because the site was used as a ammo depot in the 17th century.

$50 for all of these? Jeff either makes more money than God, or expenses everything everywhere at all times. Well, I guess he could have poor impulse control and shoddy money management skills too, but it's probably one of the first two.

Jeff is known for spending a lot of money on the dumbest gaming-related shit. He bought a lifetime subscription to the Star Trek MMO without really playing the game, he bought literally every game that came out on Game Room (which probably says something about how he'll spend his money here). I think he also bought one of those dumb Playstation TVs, or whatever Sony called them, without using it. The list goes on and on and on.

@kylebsure:No word on that. I know PS Now is a big deal and moneymaker (beta prices are loopy since beta of course) but if they put a quite accurate and compatible PS1/PS2 emulator in the PS4 that took discs that would be like the largest warm hug to gamers in history of gaming. It's something I think modern day Sony can do, it's something I want them to do, it would make sense. Even if it was a one-time purchase for the emulator.

But I'm happy these exist, dangit. There's the chance of them taking the actual good Konami late 80's 90's arcade games they ported to the PS4. Expect two games a month.

When I saw "Japanese arcade titles" I dumbly got my hopes up that there'd somehow be some really awesome old shooters or something in here.

Rygar and Wonder Boy are okay, I guess.

Given that Video-Games-Are-Jeff's-Job, I'm fairly confident that CBSi foots the bill for most of Jeff's at-work, work-related expenses. There HAVE been a few times, though, where Jeff has basically exclaimed, "My God, I spent my own money for this garbage!" ;)

EDIT: Such as this very video: "Yeah, I wouldn't pay $8 for this. Oh wait, I DID!"

I believe Jeff's said before that he expenses some of it, but not nearly as much as he probably should. He pays for a lot of stuff out of his own pocket.

Crazy Climber is in my top 5 arcades games of all-time. Once you get the hang of the controls it's great.

If you hold down and both sticks while your in a window the pots will bounce off your head.

Someone should tell Jeff there's a whole section on US PSN with imported, untranslated Japanese PSOne games. Money Puzzle Exchanger (or rather Money Idol Exchanger) and one of those Crazy Climber sequels are amongst them.

Just for the record, Wonderboy is the O.G. - not that poser Higgins.

Bought all of these as well - only weak one in the pile is Crazy Climber (because of the controls). FYI, @jeff FYI: Wonderboy has a scan line option, where the others don't. I think. It's Japanese.

That's actually a brilliant idea for a series. Kinda reminds me of when Brad and Ryan went and played all the Olympic games.
