I don't have much of an opinion on this, other than I absolutely adore watching these guys, especially Alex for some reason, discuss and decided on Barbie's fashion.

I haven't laughed this much watching a Quick Look since Project Diva F... Side note, I'm actually kind of looking forward to the eventual Vita release of that.

There is a level of misogyny in this game I didn't even believe possible

I watched the whole thing, but I didn't see any hatred of women at all. I just saw a crappy game pandering to little girls. If people didn't buy it, they wouldn't bother making these. If this is sexist, then so must Counter-Strike be, which indulges in a stereotyped male interest.

Sorry, but portraying an entire cast of young women as so superficially obsessed with clothing that seemingly every activity in this game involves it in some way is not the same as a military shooter. In one game, the player has access to dozens of deadly weapons and competes against other players in what is implied to be a high-stakes situation. In the other, the player is made to perform trite tasks that happen to reinforce the patriarchal overemphasis on women's appearances while disembodied male voices tell the female characters where they may go in a bizarre rat maze of a house and make unbelievably condescending remarks to them. One of these games places the target audience in a position of power, and the other game places the target audience under the most literal interpretation of the "male gaze" possible.

I've looked into getting work at the studio that made this. But after I watched this ... I can't decide whether working at Torus would be fucking awesome, as I could write ANYTHING and I doubt anyone would notice or care, or it would be a slow and painful death.

"Whereas this guy seems like a total dipshit."

I don't like the game either, but /surprisingly/ there can exist 4 girls who are just super into clothes and have the most plastic personality possible. They're not standing up to say, "WE REPRESENT ALL GIRLS EVERYWHERE" it's more, "hey we're super rich and into collecting pricey shit. We're kinda lame but hey look pink stuff".
