Bought it yesterday. By far the greatest Final Fantasy game in a very long time. Not really a FF game but to me it is!

Highly recommend the game. Great battle system and has a nice story twist.

I don't have to watch anything else! The first 2:30 was amazing!

Jesus Christ that opening! Is it possible to change the angle just a bit? You know...for cinematic low angles?

@demonsoul: Yeah, I was hearing things along the lines of "the best FF game" and that it harkens back to the older games, but I worried about WHICH older Final Fantasies they were talking about. The demo and now the game thankfully confirmed that it is pulling from the 16-bit era games since that is where my heart really lies (I played the SNES FF 2/IV so many times that I had a play where I renamed everybody after Star Trek:TNG characters)

I also can't play on normal speed anymore, it seems to go in slow-motion for me.

@golguin I aimed the camera at my desk in front me me and it was just fine.

I wish I had a 3DS. Or money.

Only 10 minutes in. I'm not sure if Vinny is trolling about FF9/FF8 or if he legit doesn't remember. 8 had the draw system which was completely broken and not like pokemon at all. FF9 is garbage besides Vivi.

Don't know about watching anyone play a JRPG for over an hour, but great intro great game.

That intro is fucking awesome! All 3DS games should start with AR cards.

Wow, quick(long)look, and that opening was brilliant.

It is one of the things that make gameplay of RPGs not work too well is showing every moment and not experiencing it yourself.

In trying to understand the battle system wouldn't Brad have an easier (less frustrating) time with the harder hitting enemies if he just Defaulted for three turns then burn all of his BP by Braving 4 times, rather than Braving 4 times at the start of a fight.

I wouldn't mind playing a JRPG, but I cannot stand games where I have to input and queue all my attacks first and then watch it happen. Are there any other JRPGs out there with a battle system like Final Fantasy X? You didn't have to queue attacks: when you pressed attack, your guy went, and then you moved on to the next guy. At the same time, it wasn't like the ATB system where it was constantly going, it was still slower and turn-based. I miss that system, and I wish more games adopted it.

It's probably a weird deal breaker, but I've always hated queueing attacks. Rest of the game looks alright though.

You can speed things up so that you don't have to watch the animation of each attack for too long.

Should not be going into the negatives unless you are confident that the thing will be dead afterwards. Better to default early and keep reserve points for when you need them instead of just constantly going all in.
