@larmer: Well the difference being that the sleaziness is the entire focus of this game. But Peace Walker did have a mode where you could look at models of some of the female characters in swimsuits.

I wonder which is more interesting, the people debating the cultural differences regarding should games like these exist. Or the people debating the cultural differences regarding which girl should have or shouldn't have been in it.

Also surprisingly I can actually match the names and faces of all the girls in this game...I didn't even know how I manage to do that since I am not really into the series. It is both amusing and scary at the same time.

Why all the negativity? seems like a fine way to spend your free time.

I think people on board have long accepted these games for what they are, both the good and the bad, and have also by this point come to expect the real gnarly DLC structure. Others seem to grow tired of beating the same drum each year, and the spiels over Japan's supposedly terrible and backwards culture are slowly reduced to "Oh you, Japan!"

For fans, it helps that the character models in this one are great (at least compared to DOA5) and the game is relatively straightforward to import, complete with English subtitles in the Asian version. The team clearly had some intent to bring it to the West before deciding it was probably a bad idea, and who can blame them?

Really, Jeff did well in showing off the series over the years, in good humor and without much commentary. He knows what he likes (badass women but mostly feet I'm guessing), much like these games and their audience.

And it's all in good fun, while some continue to disagree and Japan continues to show zero remorse (for these types of games anyway).

A lot of the "unrest" early on mostly seemed to be down to Western Otaku types being uncomfortable that their market is actually tiny here. None of the DOAX games have ever sold well...anywhere, this one will be no different. Play Asia tweeting about 20k physical copies being sold just highlights that.

I like Anime and Japanese games as much as the next guy, but Weaboo Japanophile people are flipping nuts and need to be locked up. Only the extremely delusional can't see that there was a clear business reason for locking this game up in Asian territories and it wasn't "DEM SJW!!"

I'm guessing that the lack of full control over the camera is because this game is meant to be played with only one hand.

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't all this skin tech stuff wasted on an anime game? Isn't the point to make it look more like anime and less like real people? As it is, it seems to be doing a horrible job at both.

I was actually expecting more game in there and expecting changes from the last game. I'm sure they worked hard on this game, but it appears they didn't work hard on the game bits of it. I'm all for better in game models for characters, but there really should be more game in there.

As someone that's still waiting for the already shipped english version to be delivered, I would like to say thank you to Jeff and Dan. While it's pretty clear that you understandably don't like the game, or have a complete lack of interest in playing it, the QL was very enjoyable and full of pleasant good vibes. Great job!

This was exactly what I was thinking the whole time, wonder if they didn't realize there was one? I got mine finally yesterday and played it a couple hours, very much the same as previous versions but better graphics which is fine it's been a long time since I played the last one. Don't care for all the photo taking crap but I've always actually enjoyed the volleyball and casino stuff which was my main reason for importing. Some of the other side games are ok, the pool jumping is challenging and the butt bumping and tug of war are better than expected. Definitely not any GOTY material but it's a nice distraction from playing games like The Division, Halo, Far Cry, etc.

Did you know that Dennis Rodman was the voice of Zack for Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball? Me neither until I found out today after watching this. Kind of wouldn't mind if they brought him back to voice Zack if this game will ever get English VO or even make it out West (which I know is unlikely).

damn if GB made a QL for this you would think they would give Senran Kagura a chance it's more a less the same in the sense of lewdness but still quite fun to watch and the gameplay is actually good if you don't mind musou beat em up games

This game looks exactly the same as DOA Xtreme 2. An old Xbox 360 game. That was fucking awful.

@katsu044: Agreed. Estival Versus' release would have been a great time for it too. Not to mention there's a substantial amount of gameplay there as well.
