I'm really enjoying that this game is getting some decent props from reviewers, especially on the story front. Based on this QL, it sounds like a lot of the game mechanics have been fixed beautifully from past games. I'm not getting an Xbox One anytime soon, but dammit I'll be getting this first thing when I do.

Looks fun but not worth a 500 dollar Xbone purchase...

I just recently bought the first game, and then DR2 and Case Zero were both free with XBL Gold...

I've got some catching up to do. Also, I'll probably never get an Xbox One or PS4 so there's that.

I'm waiting for Dead Rising 3: Off the Record, where you play as Chuck Greene. All Dead Rising re-releases are obligated to let you play as the previous game's protagonist.

Considering I was bored long before the end of the quick look, I don't think I'll bother thanks.

There may be a lot of zombies but otherwise the graphics don't look very good, and dropping below 30 fps in parts in very bad as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know man at this point they're pretty much on par. The PS4 is 100 bucks cheaper but the XBONE comes with its camera in the box (if you care about that stupid thing anyway) and seem to have the strongest early lineup of games

Actually, that one will be DR3: Daddy's Home and then you'll get DR3:OTR2 where you play as Frank West again...

loved DR1, didn't like DR2, but this looks awesome.

I think you mean all Dead Rising re-releases are obligated to let you play as Frank West. He's covered wars you know.

This game looks super fun to play. I have always hated the time limit in Dead Rising, it limited my ability to explore and mess around in the sandbox. I like it better as a 2nd playthrough or new game plus option.

well going by capcom's record. It will be on pc in 2014, in some type of "complete/GOTY edition". There are too much money on that market to ignore, we just have to wait a bit for the launch to pass and MS/Sony are done comparing dicks. Most exclusive on 360 (with the exception of a few here and there) made in on to pc last gen, I don't see why it wouldn't be the same here. Sony is the one that gives no shit about pc, which is why they will force me to eventually pick up a ps4(Naughty Dogs will not be denied).

Dr2 was free? Aww I missed that. Really bumped that you only have 2 weeks to get a game with XBL Gold instead of a whole month like with PS+.

This looks like traditional DR fun.

Also, I appreciated the stuff Brad was showing, actually. All this menu stuff really cleared up A LOT of stuff I really wasn't sure about. Very helpful, interesting, and fun.

i debated about watching this video just because i'm leery of anything that might make me want to buy a ps4 or xbox one.

The PS4 is also a lot more powerful. Choosing a console because of launch games is dumb either way. I'd rather get the cheaper system that will have the best console versions of multiplatform games for the next 7 years or whatever + the better exclusives.(going by studios and what happened with the ps3 and 360)

Anyway, this game looks alright. Kind of a one trick pony (we can make a ton of zombies with very basic ai on the screen surround you!!) and I got more and more bored watching it in both the quick look type things they've done with this game.

Call me weird, but I'm not sure I dig the streamlined nature of this. The thing I loved about Dead Rising was how methodical it was, coupled with the fact that it never stopped moving forward. Want to be good with guns? That's a measured risk, by losing an inventory space to a book. Want to mow down hordes of zombies with a combo weapon? Plan ahead, gather materials, go to a work bench. Want to get lots of PP? Better hope you have enough time left with the story to do those three side missions. And on top of that, failing was kind of fun, because all of your progress rolled over into a new game.

Yup, I completely agree. While mowing down zombies in as many ludicrous ways as possible is a pretty big factor of the series, it also had this unforgiving survival element to it all that I really enjoyed. The psychopath boss battles can fuck right off, though. I wonder how they function in DR3 given the game's accessibility overhaul.

Also, I'm a little disappointed that they cut down the animation for drinking stuff. I always loved the big, exaggerated glug Frank & Chuck done in previous games.

co-op isnt just two Nicks, you play as 'Nick' and 'Dick', separate characters.

I'm enjoying my PS4 but I hope I can get the money soon to buy an Xbox One.

This game looks cool but I'm not sure if I can $560 for it right now when it's the only thing I'd end up playing on X1 for several months.

Seems like an excellent game, can't wait for the PC version!

I can't help but feel that this game would be so much better if it stripped the story and became an Xbox One Arcade game. $60 is too much to ask to mow down zombies with tons of weapons, especially when you can find the other Dead Rising games for $20 or less on consoles you already own. I'm not getting an Xbox One but I would really be disappointed to pick this up for my new console, nothing about it seems "next gen".

@civid: Its true that they are pretty much even, but as you said its a hundred bucks more expensive and i just cant justify spending 500 on a machine. ( especially because its in euros ;_; ) but maybe a few years down the line. I'l have a nice back catalogue i can get into then i guess.

HTML5 on this video is super flickery for me. Worked fine on the KI QL, and this video works fine when on progressive... Weird
