Quick Look: Dead Rising 3

How many of those open world games had thousands of zombies, tons of weapons and vehicles on screen at once though? Also I'm sure it looks better in person.

It looks fun, but I think that was expected. Glad to see they are getting away from some of the annoying issues from past games. Some still remain, but I can deal.

Or... you know, he might be a fan of the way that Dead Rising games play, as evidenced by his love of the other two Dead Rising games. But that would make too much sense, wouldn't it?

Of course, I think Dead Rising was sort of boring before this installment, so hey, opinions.

Then maybe it's a good thing that DR3 isn't the only game that will ever be released for the Xbox One. It'd be real bad news if there weren't a bunch of other games available at launch. Or you can continue to sit there and invent reasons to hate on Xbox and Microsoft because that's the cool thing to do.

Really nothing fun in what I saw, but I wasn't playing, so what do I know?

It just looked and sounded like they were making more excuses for this game than it deserved. Hope it's worth the praise Brad seemed to be giving it.

Dead Rising is the right kind of stupid.

That achievement pop up took a pretty long time to go away. Plus its at the bottom middle? Weird place for that... I wonder if you can change it.

the weapon system looks fun. so many zombies! This looks like a pretty solid bit of fun.

Yes the new consoles have less horse power then I would like but they have just enough to be a decent step up. This doesn't look bad by any means for a launch game other then the fact it's in 720p and runs at 30fps. Still there is an impressive amount of stuff going on at once and the sheer amount of physics happening at once.

This literally looks like the same amount of zombies that would appear on screen in Dead Rising 2. And the frame rate isnt much better. So what in gods name are you all soo impressed about?

Both this and KI turned out much better than I thought they would based on previews/demos may have to get an X1 sooner than I originally planned.

Load times. Previous DR games had load times nearly every single room you went into.

Time is reflected by the story missions !

We have seen how much more enjoyment you can get from a game looking and running great. I've heard Killzone and Knack are real winners, the awesome graphics went a long way in making those two games a lot more fun!

How can you hate the companions in Skyrim? Sure their A.I. was hilariously bad and they were useless in a fight, but they were goddamn second inventory. That was one of the most helpful things in the entire game for hoarders like me.

When Brad's at the helm of a quick look he'll play how he wants, viewer be damned.

It looks like the zombies that are further away only have a few frames of animation. Once they're within about 20 yards, it begins to smooth out. You can definitely see it when Brad drives the bulldozer and the camera is higher up.

....I need to know what happens when that timer in Normal Mode expires and if the side radio missions run on a schedule like the old games, or if they're determined by something else.

If there's still a timer and a schedule, it doesn't sound that different from the old Dead Rising games...

This game looks really stupid in the most awesome kind of way.

Jeff getting...shall we say frustrated with Brad just showing the menus and then endless ways to kill Zombies was hilarious....man just wanted to see some story stuff.

Maybe it's a Brad thing, but this does not look good. They've taken a lot of what's core to Dead Rising out and haven't made a better looking game.

Except those fences. I like the fence physics.

You're crazy. It's called informfun, not funformative.

I'm getting both consoles, but right now I prefer the Xbox for the exclusive games. More interested in DR and Forza than Killzone and Knack. On a whole, Xbox always had more exclusives I was interested in anyway.

But, I'm probably going to use my PS4 to play multiplatform games since it's more powerful and the controller is really good now. I'll end up with a bigger exclusive library on the Xbox I think, if last gen was any indication. But I bought a PS3 just for those few games that were really great and I would again.

I don't want to miss out on anything.

I just got the follower fixed mods and followers don't die for Skyrim and stopped caring about what they did.

Despite Brad's best efforts this game looks like a lot of fun. Dead Rising has always had a shit framerate.

they should probably get rid of the trans-bashing bit. the game might be good if it weren't for that.

So I played this at my friend's place for about 6 hours. Here is a question. Why is this considered "good" and dynasty warrior is "terrible"? Because what I have played of this is a way worst playing. shallow but with better graphics dynasty warrior. Is it the Zombie? or the blood and gore? I do not get it and I liked DR1-2 but this lost a lot of that soul.
