@Rhaknar:

I got no problem with quick look ex. They are mostly (all?) on games that have yet to come out. And they released 18 quick looks (non-ex) in the last 2 weeks. There are only 4 quick look Ex in the same time period. So I really don't see the problem.

Looks cool but I have little faith in the developer since Shank. That game, on the PC, had bad input lag.

The plural of Ninja is "Ninja"... There's no such thing as Ninjas

In some circles, we call those kind of nouns uncountable. And you certainly can't count ninjas. For every ninja you see, 100 are hiding behind you waiting to strike.

really not liking the trend of QLEXs that seems to be popping up...ALOT lately, most of them (like this one or the Transformers one) are basically just half an hour of PR shilling while Jeff or whoever goes "uh hu" "oh yeah?" etc. The Darksiders one wasnt that bad, but still, just the fact that these are replacing actual quicklooks (aparently there will be no Darksiders 2 "proper" quicklook) is troubling.

It seems they dont understand that we dont watch quicklooks for game footage, at least not just that, we watch it to see THEM play and THEM comment and goof around with the games. If we just wanted game footage, we could see it on a dozen other websites, know what I mean?

Didn't know you knew everything about everything. Who knew.

Game looks fucking awesome, will definitely be ponying up some space bucks for this.

I enjoy me a good stealth game, but the usual problems with games in that genre are certainly an issue, so I'm glad the dev took steps to try and avoid those. My biggest complaint (which was brought up) is definitely not having enough good visual feedback about the sometimes obtuse systems that govern the gameplay (sight lines, light/dark, noise, etc.); seems like Klei does a good job of communicating this to the player.

Definately getting this game. As much as I enjoy the Ninja Gaiden series, bar NG3, the only games I've seen with ninjas being stealthy is the tenchu series, this game is very welcome and more like it should follow. Although I would prefer a Ninja Gaiden style stealth game over a 2D one.

I'm a stealth freak. Love both the Metal Gear Solid series and the Splinter Cell series, and always go the stealth route with games that offer it (like Deus Ex: Human Revolution).

So, I'm definitely in.

@Rhaknar: So you speak for everyone? I really like QLEX's specifically because of the developer interaction. This particular dev talks a lot about game design and theory, I didn't really detect any schilling.

These videos also give the GB crew the opportunity to flex their journalistic muscle, continuously showing that they are more than just a bunch of guys who like to be goofy or "crack wise". Without these kinds of videos, we might as well be watching the average Youtuber.

The PR guy was pretty jazzed. heh. I do appreciate the enthusiasm, but I usually prefer the EX's that have the developer answering questions more than just telling us about the game the whole time. Still a fun little video, and seems like a nice game. :)

I really don't agree with the guy deviates the answer when he's asked how long it is. He answers by saying '' long enough ''. That means it'll be a 2 to 5 hours long title like Shank? He and the crew then proceeds into saying how people who generally asks '' how many hours am I getting for this '' is the wrong attitude. I think it isn't. There's no point, for me, in buying a 2 hours long game for 15$ that I'll never play again. If its 5 hours long but there's a crap load of replay value, then i'm going to be interested.

I get what you're saying and I sort of feel it too, but I have to give the dude a break when they're on a website this big and they're trying to sell there game. Could just be nervous.

He said "Yikes" in regard to the fact that Tenchu was motherfucking fourteen years ago. If you played that as a kid, you're probably almost or past 30 years old, and that shit sucks to realize sometimes. Not that that kind of thing strikes a cord with me or anything....

Also this game looks baller and I'm totally into it.

I remember a time when any videogame less than ten hours long, for just about any price, was considered a major rip-off not worth your money. Honestly? I kind of miss those days.

Nah, I've got a ways to thirty yet. 1998 wasn't that long ago. Tenchu came out 14 years ago, but that's not the last time anybody played it. The second one wasn't as great, but it was worthwhile. You were still bad ass assassins in feudal Japan, and that's still cooler than badass assassins in the modern world. Lasers be damned.

Sounds like I don't like this game, but I do. Just... Tenchu is sweet.

The days of poorly paced games padded out with filler? I'm all for getting my money's worth but brevity generally means a game doesn't drag. I'd rather have 7 hours of fried gold than 15 hours of the same content stretched out to satisfy people who still think length always equals good value.

@adam1808: You seem to be missing the point, friend; every game ever made drags inevitably, it's the way the medium works, not a fault of the length. The trick with longer games is that they give you more time to immerse yourself in a setting, more time to get better at it, and most importantly, more time that you don't have to spend twiddling your thumbs, waiting for the next game to come out and fill the void once you've played a game to death. I've always found a little repetition is well worth that.

God I can't wait to throw my money at this game on Sept 7. I'm loving everything I'm seeing- the fluid animation, the different approach to stealth mechanics, the art style... The only criticism I can think of is that I want to see different stealth kill animations instead of the same one repeated.
